  1. LOL

Except I wouldn't take a laptop there, I would try to fix it myself or take it to Mozalan as he has so much positive feedback on here.

But seriously, if you take something to be repaired and it comes back WORSE with an offer to buy it off you for peanuts - wouldn't you be suspicious that they did it on purpose?

Yep, I agree about the suspicion. That's why I haven't been back since and why I've tried to warn other folk about them on here...

  2. If I took my laptop in somewhere for repair and it came back worse than when they started I would be demanding a refund on what they charged to fix it and CERTAINLY would find it suspect if they then offered to buy it off me.

See you down at Enet then pal and let's see some action!

  3. No idea about Enet, but many people on these forums, have and continue to use Mozalan at Byte IT. When you meet him you get the impression of someone that is honest and genuine. His good reputation is what enables him to attract work. Try him next time.

Now that sounds like my cup of tea. Where are they based please 999tigger?

  4. Your still not really giving a valid reason! Anyway I personally have never had any problems with Enet and I have been using them for 5 years at least now! They have sorted all sorts of problems from virus's cracked iphone screens, new laptops, new computers and fixing my netbook!

Hmmmm. Well, I took my laptop in for repair and when I got it back it had more problems than when I originally took it. They offered to buy it off me for parts at a 'knock down' price of£50. I happened to see it for sale in there a few days later and they had it for sale for £200. This is just one of several incidents that happened before I learnt my lesson(!) Enet are swindlers, take note and tell your friends or be swindled!

  5. I think your advise may be a bit late by about 16 months.

Maybe, but my advi©e is still very pertinent.

    ---------- Post added 11-06-2014 at 21:53 ----------

What did they do or not do for you?

Oh, just a few underhand, improper and unscrupulous acts with my pc and laptop. I suppose I'm partly to blame for not trusting my instincts about them in the first place.

  6. At first reading, and going only on the information provided in this post, I'd say jump for it!

They're going to pay for you to study for a degree (estimated £5 grand (and the rest!) if you paid for it yourself) and give you a new job. So, that's more education and experience for your CV. I can't see why they would even consider doing this if you weren't valuable to them.

But then I can't see why you're considering legal action for the 'big upheavel'. Does it involve relocation / disruption of your personal life / interruption of a particular project that needs finishing or what? If you can explain the problem more clearly, it might make more sense to those of us who see a great opportunity.

Yes this move would involve involve relocation to another part of the city and may inconvenience my current childcare arrangements. But I see the point of the comments on here. I may have to go a few steps backwards to go a few forwards. Thanks for your input folks.

  7. Hi folks

I was just wondering whether anyone had took their employer to court before?

I'm in a situation where my employer has agreed to pay for me to access a professional course, but states I now I have to move departments to undertake it. This was not mentioned before and I'm considering taking legal action if need be as I think it will be big upheavel to start a new job and a degree course....

Does anyone have thoughts or positive contributions?

  8. No doubt there will be another bland statement from a spokesperson of the SYP, on the lines of,

" We emphasise that the public need not panic at all, despite the presence of guns in this one-off raid. This was a targetted attack ; the miscreants were not intending to shoot at just anyone. If you do hear any loud bangs as you're doing your shopping just duck down or lie flat on the pavement and, hopefully, you'll be o.k.

People must remember that gun crime is a lot more common in Nottingham, Manchester and London and if THEY can put up with it so should you. So, happy days, everybody and a crime number should be on its way within a fortnight. "

p.s. remember to report any illegal smokers or fox-hunters you may see !

The quote is funny but true. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the culprits get away with this.

  9. It's obviously affected your spelling though:hihi::D:P

To help you keep things in perspective.....

I know quite a few people who (regularly - some for over 20 years) smoke cannabis, and not one of them has ever tried anything harder (other than alcohol), nor are they mentally deficient/prone to mental illness.

Trying harder substances has nothing to do with peer pressure, it's more down the individuals' susceptibility (ie addictive personality).

Is that spelling or grammar and who gives a ***** about spelling when a mother is concerned about the welfare of her son? Some people....

  10. Hello Suzan

You seem understandably at your wits end.

I have smoked cannabis since I was 16 and have found it has never stopped me from getting on in life. I'm now 27 and have a succesful career and find my competence at work is not effected.

I personally know of many professionals that are regular users of cannabis and it doesn't appear to hold them back either.

I recognise there will be many posts on this topic that will highlight the negative aspects of 'weed' and thought it may be helpful for you to know that it is not all bad. Additionally, cannabis does not mean that your son will move on to harder drugs, a lot really depends on his social circle.

I think the advice from katy1981 could be useful and may help to initiate conversation about all this with your son.

I hope this helps and if I can help further please feel free to PM me.

    All the best

  11. I really don't like the new Frosties ad with the kid moving his arms like he's in some sort of Tony the Tiger rap video. What's worse is that he then proceeds to do some strange kind of karate move in amongst it all. I'm sorry but this advert should carry a 'PG Certificate' for Pretty Garbage. I used to like Frosties too.
