  2. Shot air guns all my life. Started off with a Relum Tornado dual spring. Had loads over the years. Now got Mk 2 Rapid. Trouble is i've not been 'out' for a couple of years. No transport and no where to shoot now ! Dean.
  3. What cruel monster would put a feline down the drain ? Oh, COOKING FAT !
  4. I'd say mid to late 70's. During the long hot summer of 76' i remember the houses below Petre street were nearly all empty, they had 'EL Off' painted on the front of the houses. We gathered firewood from the houses for our communal bonfire on Smiths Field. Dean.
  5. Any of you plumbers want to come and give me a quote to fit an old original Belfast sink ? Dean.
  6. Had a hideous day trying to sort my problem. India,India,India !!! No router sorted so i can use the laptop around the house. Cut off 3 times while going through trouble shooting !! Then i gave up and just went to go on the internet and guess what ? No connection ! Back on phone to India, and just got back on line !! Horrendous customer services by Virgin! Jeeez, i'm hyper now !
  7. Been having loads of fun trying to talk to someone who understands me for about a fortnight now, just keep getting India!! Lost router connection, sent new router still no connection. Where to contact Virgin in England ? Dean.
  8. You just dont get it do you 'my little munckin', shall we license every thing? Homemade catapults? What about stone throwing, that would kill you with the right sized stone ? Yes, a license for your arm ! Oh, and the difference between a shotgun and an air rifle is this, 99% of the time being shot by an air rifle will result in a not too serious injury, being shot by a shot gun ? what do you think ? Oh, and another thing, the internet doesn't sicken me, its people like you, preaching to forums like this.
  9. Hey Tony, stop starting threads that you know are going to cause trouble, aint that trolling ? Get real you plank. What if told you you needed a licence for every sharp edged tool in your home, or your 1 ton car that you might like to ram a bus queue with ? Aren't these dangerous weapons that are abused by idiots too? Mention gun and 'BANG' the usual suspects come crawling out of the woodwork, you make me feel billious, you really do. Legally held handguns banned, has this cut gun crime ? has it hell ! Its increased for pity's sake ! Create a thread damming the real idiots and murderers that are killing our citizens and each other for a change ! And leave us who enjoy what we do legally alone.
  10. Chris, do you have his number ? Dean.

  12. The bin collection service is a disgrace!! 'to encourage us to recycle more' what an absolute wind up this is. They (Veolia) have a 35 YEAR! contract to collect our rubbish. What they are doing is getting you to do part of the work for them at no cost to them and then they get all the profit from what they sell on. YOU DONT HAVE TO SEPERATE YOUR RUBBISH, IT CAN ALL GO IN THE BLACK BIN, there are no laws to make you seperate it, just what Veolia telling you to do. Only recently they asked the council if they could 'import' rubbish from outside of Sheffield as they haven't got enough rubbish to recycle from Sheffield bins alone, WE HAVE ENOUGH RUBBISH OF OUR OWN, JUST COLLECT THE BLOODY STUFF, like your contracted to instead of 'cherry picking' which kind of rubbish you want! Rubbish collection is not a favour your doing for us, its a right.
  13. Search for your relatives name on the CWGC website, you'll get a memorial ref. number if he's on there. Dean.
  14. Hi Nimrod, small world, i was at Trefcon cemetery two months ago, visiting my Great grandfathers grave, 53521 Albert Dale. Would love to know deatils of your relatives, numbers etc. Would your Percy be Percy Banyard ? I did photograph all of the Sheffield mens headstones, including Percy's if you want a copy ? regards Dean.
  15. Ours not emptied for 3 weeks, website and recorded message on the phone state put out your black bags, which we did. They did turn up at 7.20am last Sunday, woke the whole street up, to empty 2 bins that had been left out for 2 weeks! They turned up last wednesday and emptied the bin at last, but all the black bags left in a line by my neighbours wall! I rang them Wednesday morning to be told they should have taken the black bags and they would be turned back to collect them, no show. Rang again Wednesday afternoon, again promised they would be gone Thursday morning, no show. Rang Thursday morning, gone by dinner time, no show. Rang Thursday lunch time, guaranteed gone at 7.30am Friday, no show. Rang Friday lunchtime, guaranteed gone by 4.30pm Friday afternoon, no show. Ripped open black bags still there now !!!!!!! Related this to my friend who says that on Malton street, hers were emptied at 4.00am !! BUT, they were emptying one bin and leaving the next and so on down the road!!!! What do i need to do to get rid of the bags, start eating the contents ! Taking the mick ? taking the pi*s mate, thats what!! A law unto themselves these charlatans, threats to have you thrown in chains if your bin lid is up, or the wrong type of rubbish. Their Christmas bonus, which i always give, is now stuck through the hard crust of the dog turd by the side of the black bags.
  16. Hi, i get the images from myriad sources, newspapers of the day, books, internet etc etc ect. To publish what i have would be very prohibitive, but i intend when i leave this mortal coil, to have it all passed to local studies for the benefit of everyone. Dean.

  19. Hi Charlie Rose, would love anything you have, PM on the way. regards Dean.
  20. Hi bladebeer, i do have Harry. I wouldn't mind a copy of the headstone image if thats ok, i'll PM you my email addy. There is a Harry Binney on the St Mathews church roll of honour on Carver Street. Also this from the regimental magazine of the day the 'Snapper', dated March 1907. 21. PM sent hillsbro. Nice site that Bayern Blade, not come across that one before, thanks. Dean.
  22. Thank you for the 'good luck' Bayern Blade. The project is very much still ongoing. The reason i started it was to get as much info as possible on Sheffield's WW1 soldiers in one place, so as to help anyone looking for information on their relatives a lot of leg work. UPDATE - (this is not a bragging session, just to let you all know where i'm at now) Over 22,000 names in one data base from over 200 memorials and rolls of honour in Sheffield. (and images of the memorials/rolls) 5,000 images of Sheffield WW1 soldiers. (These include all images i have come across in books and else where) 1,600 images of headstones from Sheffield's burial grounds bearing Great War inscriptions. (also some images from France) A complete index to all Sheffield soldier images that appeared in the Daily Independent newspaper during the war. Up to May 28th 1915 indexing the images of Sheffield soldiers that appeared in the Telegraph during the war. Every entry on CWGC that has the word 'Sheffield' in it. Every entry from SDGW for men from different areas of Sheffield. All 300+ Sheffield born soldiers from Australia that died. (born Sheffield not mentioned on CWGC) Plus loads and loads of extra info on individual soldiers, letters, service/pension papers, MIC's etc etc. What i do is for each soldier i gather the info from CWGC, SDGW, MIC, Service/pension papers, photograph, roll of honour/memorial, then collect any other data i come across for them. Ideally i would like to get what i have now put together in some way and deposited at Local Studies, then start again, but i dont have the means or enough hours in the day to do it (mammoth task)! So thats where i am now. hillsbro, is your first name Michael? i have an image of Cecils headstone from Gouzeacourt sent to me by Michael ******, is this you? I have CWGC,SDGW,MIC, and the fact he's on Stannington memorial, any more info than this would be most welcome. regards Dean.
  23. I do have Robert George, his name appears on the St Marys roll of honour at Walkley. Would you have an image of him to share? Dean.
