  1. I left in '71 and went to Lady Manners Grammar in Bakewell for O levels. I really missed the swimming pool and the free towels they gave out! I got to Silver lifesaving by 14, as a lot did, it did a lot of good for everyone and I'm saddened to hear it's gone. Can anyone tell me if they know Martyn Turner from Beighton, he was at Westfield up till 18 I believe, where his parents had a corner shop. He was a good friend, would be 50 now and I've tried to find him several times. I heard bad news at a party in Matlock back in 1977 from someone from Killamarsh but I hope it wasn't true and I've never been able to confirm it. If you can help me.. [email protected] much appreciated.
  2. I'm sure he wasn't with family. I missed the streetwalkers unfortunately, but I have to say it sounds like an alias to me !?
  3. Or was it 74? I was 17 back then living in Bakewell and went with my mates Steve Lewis and Gary Giles I think. We sat balcony left side. I still remember this as the best gig/band I have ever seen and I've seen a few including; The Clash in 77, Floyd, Stones, Springsteen etc etc. Can anyone else remember Roger Chapman climbing the lighting rig at the back mid-song? Burlesque, Top of the Hill, In My Own Time, Sweet Desiree (remember that one!?) etc etc. A pure musical feast from start to finish! They really don't make them like that any more!!!
  4. I was in the balcony too with some mates from Bakewell, can't remember who exactly ! I remember the goggles and I'm sure it was a riding crop! I loved The Space Ritual and Dorami LP's, still got them! Did anyone go to see Family at the City Hall on their farewell tour??? I'm gonna post a new one on that!!
