It a silver and tan colour and yes it did have a collar on, so i thought it may have got loose and was lost as it had appear to be just stood in the road, the car in front of me just went round it but i couldn't that why i stopped. Did keep a look out on my way back from work and looked on pets lost but to no avail.

  17. I rushed my sister dog down to the pdsa this afternoon, telephoned them and was very pleased to get an emergency appointment at a given appt time whilst we were still filling in paperwork at the reception ,the vet was calling us in. The dog had collasped and was unable to move it's back end the vet nurse helped us carry the dog from the car into the vet side door, up to this point we were really pleased with the level of care, bearing in mind the dogs was 15 yrs old and my sister was already preparing herself for the worst, but the vet gave her two options try medications for a few days to see if she picked up but with the size of the dog being a cross rottweiler her back legs were so weak that she would probably not regain being able to take her own body weight every again, so then the options of her being put to sleep was offered no sooner and the words left the vets mouth so imediately turned and said WELL which one then, not even giving my sister two seconds to even think. Because she loved the dog and didn't want it to suffer she agreed to have the dog put to sleep, she then left to get the paperwork she didn't offer and words of reasurrance that my sister was doing right by the dog which i found abit insensitive,I understand the vets deal with putting dogs to sleep all the time but i do feel they need to remember with every pet they treat there is a owner attached to the pet and they should not forget this,my sister was so distress after signing the consent form she had to come out of the room and couldn't stay, luckily my husband was present so he stayed with the dogs for her finally moment. 18. Hi, so sorry for your loss, I know what your going through my dog holly died 6 weeks ago today. i rang the vets who advice to store her somewhere cool and then take her first thing on the monday morning. I froze a old towel and covered her up. Hope this helps.
  19. Hi, I'm so sorry for your loss, but know exactly what you are going through as i've jus lost my little yorkie Holly 4 weeks ago she was only 7. We took her to the vets last November as she started with a little cough, turned out that she had a leaking heart valve, But been great on her meds, a week before she had been to vets and they were happy with her. On the sunday morning my oh said she had been a bit quiet she came running over to me excited to see me as normal she coughed i picked her up and within a few minutes she appeared to have a fit and died in my arms. I was devastated i knew i loved her and she meant the world to me but didn't realise the pain that i felt would have been so intense. I went through all the could i have done anything different, should i have noticed anything the night before,me feeling guilty as i had been out the saturday night. I kept waking up in the night replaying the last moment i had with her. I cried for three days solid and every other day now still. It getting easier but i miss her terribly. I had her cremated and went to see her in the chapel of rest beforehand, some of my friend didn't understand but she was my little girl and needed and deserved a proper sent off. My advice is focus one the good times you shared that what helps me. x
  20. Just got back from vets where we have taken holly to stay overnight. Until her cremation tomorrow, when we will be there for her last journey. Once again thanks to all that have replied.
  21. Thank you all for your kind message. My other dog Lucy holly's sister doesn't know what to do with herself.
