Hello There's a document which was published in 2002 called: 'A better deal for tennants: your right to repair' - its on the internet if you search in google or something. As far as I can see they should have it done in three days especially as you have a baby - and because it is a health and safety issue. It says that you have to ask the council for definite times which are apparently set by law. I think the best thing to do would be to call the council housing office and discuss it with them - but don't tell them that you've asked for any repairs doing - just ask them about it.
