  1. I lived in Pitsmoor 1950 when i was 9 year old on Montfort Rd any one lived round there then?
  2. Looking for Joyce Bailey used to live on Montfort Road Pitsmoor in the late 50 is early 60 s Had a brother called Brian. Believe went to live near Hunters Bar when married.

Remember going there as a young lad with my parants to go in the padling pool also taking my kids, I now use the park on a Tuesday morning playing bowls with the blind, we will be there 10 oclock with Rotherham blind bowling club. I am from Sheffield and play with Sheffield blind bowling on Wednesday mornings in Hillsborough park

  6. I have a lap top running vista and in the corner near the clock have a button which enables me to enlarge text etc very handy for me as i am reg. blind. Can i have this on my desk top machine running XP if so how do i do it please. if not can i download a program which will do the same thing. Thanks

  8. We have a almost full length scratch down our car. prob. vandalisom. Is there anyway of repairing it without a respray, Don't really want to claim on insurance. What would the est. cost be.
  9. We are lucky enough to have a static caravan in Lincolnshire and always listen to Radio Lincolnshire. We at home in Sheffield have the same program on here all the time, we get really good reception on 94.9 . The station is very good and interesting with good prosenters . Give it a try

  11. I used to go to a drop in where there were 7 computers. Last year we got funding for new computers etc so we were given the old ones. each computer had its own licence key for windows xp. could i give my son this licence key and he use my xp disc to install windows genually. or does each licence key come with its own disc. in other words are all xp instolation discs the same or tied to each licence no. hope you can understand and can help please.
  12. Are steam cleaners as good as they seam on demostrations. I was thinking of getting one for cleaning kitchen walls and ceiling etc also windows etc. Any help please and what sort are best if you have one. Thanx

  15. Hi. I have a Dell lap top running Vista and i dont like it. This is my wifes lap top. Our desktop computer is running XP and is it poss to put XP on the lap top. I have another genuine copy of XP with code can this be done. Would it **** the laptop up or evaluate the warranty as it is only 2 months old. If it can be done how do i do it please

  17. I am with TalkTalk which i am very happy with. I have a desk top computer which is wired and have recenty bought a lap top for my wife, which is wirless. I am told i can transfer files etc from one to the othe wirlessly. Please can anyone tell me how to do this. Bearing in mind i am a pensioner and only no so much about computing so please make it simple Thanks. Alan
  18. Is it possible to transfer the stuff i have in my documents over to a lap top just by using a usb cable or do i need a programme or somthink to do it. I no i can use a flash drive but would just using the cable work

  21. I agree with AnnaK. I am looking forward to the new premises opening next year, i will be calling in for a coffee in their new praposed cafe. Darnall where they are now is a bit too risky to get to for me as i am told using the crossings etc down at Prince of Whales Rd is a bit of a nightmare. If anybody reading this is not vissually impaired but would like to offer their services which would be making tea or assisting blind bowlers on a Wednesday mornings at Concord Sports centre please get intouch. We are a mixed bunch of people all game for a lough Alan
  22. If you type the first letter into Google it will come up with things you have serched for in the past starting with that leller, if you highlight the one you want to delete then press delete on KEYBOARD it will delete it from list. I found this out by mistake but it works
  23. I am with TalkTalk and very happy but i am having prob. now forwarding emails with pic and funnies. They come to me ok but when i press forward the email to be sent is just writing and not the pics etc. I really get some nice emails and want to share them. Please is it just a simple setting or click somewhere. I am sure at one time i had no prob with this. Hope somone can help please. :help:
  24. You dont menshion how old your kids are. You seem to no about Sheffield Royal Society with the archery. As in my starting post i bowl with the blind, thats crown green bowling but there is a tempin bowling group also they have sociels for the youger end. If you are int. get intouch and we can have a chat. Did you also no that Sheffield City Council have a special Vissually impaired team who would give you great help. I was shattered when i had the stroke and lost most of my sight but had to get on with it so i do all i can to enjoy life. Driving is the thing i miss as we used to have a touring caravan, but thankfull my wife still drives a small car. Thanx for keeping the thread going and hope you and the family cope ok.
