  1. I've been brought up to respect authority, but constantly seeing and hearing reports like this makes me wonder what this country is coming to. Another option for the powers to be to consider is to actually employ some 'large built' people into the police force and train them to handle people coming at them with baseball bats.
  2. Xenia - I would be too frightened to handle a situation like that. That's why I'm not in the police force earning loads of tax payers money and looking forward to a healthy pension.
  3. Before the incident the 2 police were sat in the car having a drink. If they are too frightened to handle a situation like that, why sit there in the first place? Any of the bystanders would have done (and probably did) as much as they did. Having them sat there is just another waste of tax payers money.
  4. The police are aware of robberies taking place in the area. They are prepared. They sit waiting where the security men are picking up cash. They are ready to pounce. Suddenly it happens, the robbers run into the shop where the security men have just walked in. The police are right outside. They run to the shop door just as the robbers come running out. The robbers shout 'back off' to the police. The police back off like obedient little puppy dogs. Ahh! The robbers get clean away. Crimewatch, 30th March.
  5. Can anyone remember a time when we used to be proud to live in Britain and feel quite safe to walk the streets?
  6. You have my absolute sympathy, it;s easier for the cops to deal with the 'injured' party every time......................
  7. I went into Comet a couple of weeks ago and picked a TV which I thought I might buy my son for Xmas. The price of the TV was £185.00. I called in again last weekend expecting it to be cheaper with the tax cut down - my expectations were short lived, the TV had gone up to £199.00. I thought the cheaper tax was for the benefit of the general public to make us start spending again not to line the retailers pocket. Needless to say, Comet won't be getting my custom.
