  1. They were practicing a combat medivak... The field at parkwood is used by helicopters too large for the pad at the northern general. You'll have seen the sea kings (big yellow) land there and now the new white and red coastguard helicopters coming in there too. The smaller air ambulances (yellow and same type as the police helicopter) or slightly bigger red helicopter from Ruttland/Derbyshire. use the pad at the northern general
  2. We got married in Vegas this year. Our hotel was covered by Cashman, there was 100 dollar additional charge to our ceremony to use someone else. The pictures they captured we're very good and at a reasonable rate (for wedding photography). Where are you getting married? Cashman seem to have quite a monopoly in Vegas they run all the souvenir photos at most of the Vegas attractions. Best wishes Rob
  3. Did you find anyone to edit your footage?
  4. Hi Gym rat, Sorry i often shorten phoTOGrapher to Tog Cheers Rob
  5. Hi, Thanks both for your replies. Repo, i get where you're coming from and I was just stating what i was considering. But what about others who have a particular skill and are prepared to share it in return for another. For example someone good at macro offering that skill in return for landscape knowledge? I know my request was slightly different, im wanting someone to pull the trigger at my wedding because I can't. As for your comments about basketball photography I'm glad you consider it so easy to get on with. I have been working hard at it for a number of years, I would not be offering just an oppotunity to turn up and shoot, but my knowledge, creative ideas, even camera kit if required and links to people I have contacts with. But feel free to contact your local team and shoot in return for a disc full of images and no payment... isn't that like volunteering to shoot a wedding for no money which often gets slated on this forum? My initial idea was a chance for photographers on here and upskill/try something different. I stated my own situation as a rough example. Enjoy the rest of christmas day. Best wishes Rob
  6. Myself and my Fiancee have just had an interesting idea. We were reading the post about someone wanting a wedding photographer for free. I like many on here have mixed feelings about that (but thats for another thread). We are in the position of needing a wedding tog and are also on a very tight budget. We are both part time sports photographers. We cover top flight British Basketball and this summer covered the paralympic games. We had the idea of maybe togs trading off experience/skills. For example, we need a wedding tog, we're on a budget, but being togs all we would need is the images, which we could edit ourselves. In return we could offer the chance for the tog to come and have some time working with us at a basketball game, passing on some of our knowledge and skills as payment if you like. Thoughts? Rob
  7. Re Sheffield airport... it had a very similar length runday to London City which is a very successful airport and means that Europe is easily reachable with the Airbus aircraft cleared to operate out of there.
  8. Hi, Myself and my girlfriend are the One Health Sharks' photographers. What kind of shots are you after and where do you train? whats the lighting like? We might be able to help. http://www.mphotography.org.uk/sharks - for samples of our work. Cheers Rob
  9. I love the way all the private sector workers are saying all the public ones should think themselves lucky cos they are under worked and over paid?!? I'm sorry when did this become a competition for the worst conditions? The public sector workers I know pay 6.5% of their wage each month into their pension scheme it's not "gifted" to them. The unions have worked long and hard to gain any benefits the public sector works have... why should they have it erroded just because people in the private sector bleet it's not fair?
  10. But Nikon, Nikkor and there current marketing slogan was used here - job done, even canon users have joined in
  11. I think Nikions advertising has worked - your all discussing it
  12. Thank's JJ, been talking about the Reds with a few people recently... 2 things came up again and again... how many people turn out to see them and secondly how proud and excited people are of them. Cheers Rob
  13. Hi Paul, I'm a member of both forums, you'll see i posted the same set with a couple of extra on fighter control tonight. I usually do Waddington and cosford airshows and usually pick up anywhere local that the BBMF and Red Arrows might be. I did the first East Kirkby show a few years ago (on account that i was on holiday in Skeggy). I dont get to the bases much tho again i have been to Conningsby when I've been on holiday in Skeggy. I talked to the guy's at Waddington who had the Cleathorpes show stand... interesting idea will have to see how it turns out, would be nice to have another local show. Cheers Rob
  14. Troutbasher, just looked at your flickr... nice pic's from Chatsworth and East Kirkyby? do you go to shows often? I find it difficult living far away from most shows and not driving Rob
  15. Thank you both for the kind comments. I too am a life long fan of the team. I was on holiday in Scarborough that week and came home buzzing knowing i had these on the camera... only to find out the tragic loss of Jon Egging. I have photographed the team quite a few times this year, i know the display and commentary inside out and although i never met Jon, I felt a tremedous sense of loss, almost like losing a friend. I've heard many say the same, I guess it is because we share the same passion - aviation and because i am very proud of the team and what they represent... the very best of british. Cheers Rob
