Hiya, yes there was a canary island as my grandad used to live there and my great uncle used to talk about it but when I've mentioned it on here before nobody has come back with anything and sadly that generation of my family have died. Just to let you know the sad news that George Broadhead senior died peacefully on 4th Dec 2014. Funeral to be held on Monday 22nd Dec at Shiregreen cemetery, 12.45 followed by internment, family flowers only but donations can be made for Alzheimer's society to John Fairest, Penistone road north, Wadsley Bridge, RIP Grandad B x

Good news for Grimesthorpe Family Centre, we have won a make over, it's a scheme called 'Give & Gain' day, it's where big employers give their employees time off to give some hours back to community projects. There will be up to 200 employees taking part in making over the centre from painting, plastering to knocking bits out and changing. We are so excited, when the lady was saying what they could do it brought tears to our eyes. There will be a facebook page and twitter account set up for people to see the progress and I'll keep everyone informed. It is going to be amazing, can't wait for the first meeting to get started.

I have been asked to post on behalf of John Nortcliff, it's with great sadness that Dotty Nortcliff, wife of the late Brian, died on 5th August in hospital, funeral to be held on Tuesday 26th August at Shiregreen cemetery at 12.30, after they will be celebrating her life in The Ball Inn, ringside.
