We need someone (cheap/reasonable) to keep the weeds down and do a bit of hedge trimming in our garden, probably just a couple of hours a month would do it. Is there anyone out there who would be interested?

Disabled son being bullied on tram
Jane123 replied to barts96's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I disagree - I think we now quite often see disabled people portrayed positively in the media, which never used to be the case. I think there is a complete lack of respect amongst some young people these days, too many feckless teenagers having children with no idea or interest in bringing them up properly( to treat people as they would wish to be treated themselves) I can't imagine standing by on Supertram while this disabled lad is being abused. I would have to intervene. I hope everything is working out now for him. -

Most of my childhood memories are on slides and I want to transfer a number of these colour slides/transparencies onto a disc. There are a few people on line who do this for varying prices. Can anyone recommend a place to do this for me?

Man drunk in charge of wheelchair?
Jane123 replied to Jane123's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
What a crass comment! I suggest you read the posts properly before answering. This man (who just happens to be disabled) endangers not only himself, but other roadusers and pedestrians lives on a regular basis by getting drunk!! -
Man drunk in charge of wheelchair?

This particular disabled man uses his wheelchair at speed on the highway whilst drunk - is that allowed? -
Man drunk in charge of wheelchair?
Jane123 replied to Jane123's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I wondered if anyone knew these two men. Sooner or later I can see an accident happening. -
I came across what I thought was an empty wheelchair sitting in the road whilst driving home from work last night. I overtook it and noticed there was a man sitting in it but slumped right over. On the pavement there was another man sitting talking on his mobile phone. I would have stopped, but Ive seen this pair out and about drunk/high quite a few times recently in the Stannington area, sometimes freewheeling down Stannington Road at speed.

Does anyone know the name (and telephone number if possible) of the hair salon at Burton Street.

Can vouch for Mr Mitchell, painter and decorator as he decorated my daughters bedroom beautifully. He's coming to do some more work for us in the spring. -
Low energy light bulbs. Surely we could do better.

It was the nearest I had to 100 and I expected it to be slightly dimmer, but this is a completely different type of light cast around the room - miserable! -

I have just reluctantly replaced a 100W bayonet cap bulb (old type) with an ugly (new type) Philips 75W equivalent energy saving bulb - the bedroom now looks like a gloomy damp cave which is not the look I was after. I will be searching the shops for some good old fashioned light bulbs to stockpile - cant live in this depressing half-darkness -
We are replacing a large amount of grey click laminate flooring which has been water damaged in one small area. Can this be taken up and re-used?
-
This beautiful little girls face wasnt damaged to that extent in just a moment, this must have been a heck of a beating and where were the staff? The nursery were neglectful and the staff should be ashamed of themselves for letting it happen.

Went in on Saturday night and cant wait to go again. Might have been a bit over enthusiastic dancing to the Stones but had a brilliant time!
