Just wondered if anyone knows if Barking Mad is under new ownership? We've always had Michael strip our border terrier but this time he's not around. He has sensitive skin and we've been told that we should have him clipped rather than stripped and it should be done every 8-12 weeks. This seems a bit excessive and I was under the impression that borders shouldn't be clipped though I'm not sure why! Any advice?

My in-laws are wanting to travel to see their daughter in New Zealand for 6 months over our wintertime. They are 75 and amazingly fit and well They are struggling to find insurance for more than 3-4 months, the cost of that it around £2500 How do the OAPs manage to holiday abroad for the winters? Hi, I heard that it used to be a care home but has now closed. Does anyone know what it is now used for? I have heard that it seems to have lots of people in it but not of the elderly variety! I wonder if it is being used for asylum seekers or maybe squatters? I am considering moving to the area but am slightly concerned as to what it may now be

Dear all. We are in the position of choosing secondary schools. Having to decide between the 2 good schools. I have heard good and bad about both and happy to take this on face value/gossip. I guess that no school is 100% perfect!! My major concern is that my child has dyslexia. I have been told over the years that Silverdale are concerned with the bright academic, sporty children where as High Storrs have a better special needs department. Does anyone know if this is true/still the case?

Hi, we have some bamboo in the front garden which has got totally out of control, it is killing the other plants and coming up through the paving! Ideally I would like to keep it as it does provide great cover and privacy but it needs taking in hand! Anybody know what I can do with it other than dig it up completely?
