  1. After much harrassing by people it seems the time has come for another match, however before I book somewhere I need to know how many people fancy it ?

Will try and get us the best Venue available , perhaps Lindholme or woodhouse Grange etc depending on anglers and availability

And bigsexydoug is now gone...littlesexydoug is now here

  2. Sonic All Star Racing (backwards-compatible 360 game)

What do you mean by "more shoot them up like GOW4 but not COD"?

Do you mean FPS like COD (but not COD, in which case perhaps Battlefield or Halo 5?), or are you strictly after third person view (like GOW), or do you mean arcade-like shmups (in which case I'd say the backwards-compatible Ikaruga & Metal Slugs (3 & XX) are a must)?

Rainbow 6 Vegas and Rainbow 6 Vegas II.

Thank you, yeah you guessed right, just never got on with cod but do like first and third person shoot em ups, plenty for me now to get bought and get playing

  3. I'm going to grand prix at silverstone.. don't have to fly and it's a good weekend :)

Been to Silverstone a few times so not really excited by going there and by the time you add on a hotel seems a bit much for a weekend, would rather pay roughly the same and see a totally different racetrack

  4. Due to pick my Xbox up Thursday, I'm after some games

Would love a 2 player racing game ....but fun like Mario kart used to be

I'm getting gow4 with console which I love but would love some more shoot em ups (not cod) too

Does anyone know which/if any Tom Clancy 360 games will work on the one ?

    Thank you

  5. I'm determined to see an f1 race live this year, can anyone recommend which circuit in Europe is best for getting a decent view and cost effective and if anyone knows any good f1 specialist travel companies ?

I really like Germany as a country but having never been to an actual race im a bit wary.

Wish I had gone sooner ....when McLaren used to be good :-(

  6. If I knew what it was

I could possibly try and help :hihi:

Super Nintendo entertainment system - snes

    Retro Console from the 90's

How do you know it's given up on life? - What's it doing/not doing?

I might be able to fix it... :)

At the moment, nothing loading , red power light is on, does it need the red/yellow/white av cable or can it just use the standard rf cable on its own ? Can't remember it's been that long ?

  7. If you have a decent internet connection Now tv should work fine. After that it's a case of whether you think the subscription charges are worth it. I have Sky but no movies or sports. I don't watch that many movies and only wanted sports for the F1. I only subscribed to Now tv when there was definitely something I wanted to see so have saved a huge amount instead of taking out a full package with Sky.

I have a couple of the white Now tv boxes which I'm giving away for free. If you want one PM me. You'll need to collect from near Meadowhall.

You might be able to save a small amount of cash and get hd added and cancel sports as f1 comes as part of the hd pack....but just check with sky first that it's still the case !

  8. You think it's an insult to patients, DESPITE the fact that it saves more than it costs.

I don't think running classes for staff is at all similar to paying for holidays.

Yes because it shouldn't be up to the nhs to sort out it's staff's health problems unless they are a patient, its called personal responsibility, if they can't manage to look after their own health then maybe they are in the wrong profession.

regarding the holiday to Majorca Why aren't they the same cyclone ? Both are personal bills and affect health of the nhs staff in the report saying stress is a major issue that would solve the stress surely ?

can you see now why your on such a slippery slope with these bills ?

The only answer now you have is agree with me or be hypocritical ! Which is it ?

  9. So you are disputing, denying and generally not agreeing with it then. i agree with the general opinion however the cost being met by people on much lower salaries at a time of cuts when their is much more important things that money could be used for annoys me !

    ---------- Post added 10-09-2015 at 10:12 ----------

And just to check, I went back to the original article you linked. You keep saying "Zumba", what the article says is

So a bit more range than your continued reference to Zumba makes out.

their is a lot more than pedalos, robot vacuum cleaners and summer houses too, however the same principle of being for discussion, unless you want the most anally retantative discussion ever ?

I'm definitely not against using evidence from the private sector, what made you think that I was? It's evidence from the private sector that shows that employee's who are fit take less sick time. And the idea of providing opportunities for exercise to employee's also comes from the private sector.

becuase you seemed to divert away from any discussion where the same results could be achieved with zero cost to the taxpayer.

This is part of where the idea comes from

The chief executive has personal experience of it working.

nice cushy office job i bet, you already have quotes from nhs staff on here saying they couldnt fit it in to their day due to work,in fact i havent seen one from anyone saying it will be a help to them. some admin staff it may help (9-5 monday to friday jobs), that wont change much on the wards will it ?

Perhaps this will put your scepticism to rest

    Proof...

not really, the same results could have been acheived for free, so some patients have been denied drugs & operations

And despite your complaints about how this will impact patients, the intent is to improve patient care

i get the intent always have, however the cost being met by the taxpayer is an insult to nhs patients in my opinion, example: breaks aka holidays are proven to improve mental health agreed ? so the nhs should pay for staff to go to majorca once a year full cost to be met by johnny taxpayer right ?

im away for a week now so will reply when i get the chance

  10. The cold is a droplet spread virus. So if you're not coughing or sneezing then there's little chance of passing it on. You're most infectious when the cold is making you sneeze, or you're blowing your nose, or breathing on someone in close contact with you.

    ---------- Post added 10-09-2015 at 08:15 ----------

You disputed it. Right here. You've read the whole thread, but can't remember your own posts?

Or are you going to claim that saying "it's only a concept" is actually you agreeing with it?

No it's a concept still as it can't be proven ! Can you prove zumba prevents colds ?

if its so certain that zumba will help why arent they garuanteeing that every single nhs worker , in fact every worker in the uk is getting zumba classes ? could you imagine the money and time saved with it ? would be billions !

However generally healthier people probably do take less sick days.

you know that, however like the vast majority of people nhs staff should have to keep themselves relatively healthy to do their job and not expect the public at large to pick up their personal bills when the nhs themselves claim cuts are harming patients, it's hypocrisy pure hypocrisy.

If by some miracle we become so rich that money is no object the nhs can have it's own zumba teacher for each hospital.

Genuine question, why are you so against taking proof from the priavte sector and applying it to the nhs ?

  11. Thats the problem...what the parties think.?? i believe the Labour party are a million miles away from knowing what the party actually stands for, let alone attracting voters. IMO there is very little between them and the Tories, i have heard many political commentators mention this point.

Everyone has to admit that the Corbyn bandwagon has been phenomenal, he has attracted thousands of new people to join the party, the same can not be said of the other three candidates offering the same stuff that saw them get wiped out in May. so why would you want to proceed down that path again?

Yeah people are going to say, the last time they went left was in 1983 and it failed, but that was a whole different situation then, 1983 wasnt a time of austerity, 1983 didnt see Bankers getting us into a mess and getting bailed out, and then shortly afterwards getting huge bonuses whilst we repay their debt, 1983 wasnt a time where corporate companies made billions and paid no tax, whereas everyone else gets chased for every penny..Yeah, times are totally different now, there has never been so many thousands of people who feel so disgruntled and not having a voice, Corbyn is now their voice, so the next question will be, is he just a protest vote? no..!!

    recent public opinion polls...

    • He supports a publicly run NHS, a position supported by 84% of the public.

    • He supports the nationalisation of the railways, a position backed by 66% of the public.

    • He supports the nationalisation of the energy companies, a position supported by 68% of the public.

    • He believes the Royal Mail should be publicly owned, a position supported by 67% of the public.

    • He supports rent controls, a position supported by 60% of the public.

    • He has long pushed for the withdrawal of British troops from Afghanistan, a position favoured by 82% of the public.

I am sure there will be many people in this country who are interested in what he proposes, i am also sure he will recoup many of the disaffected voters who left to join the greens or Ukip believing that Labour doesn't represent them any more, i know the media keep stating he will never win in a million years, and the Labour Party get anybody and their grandmother to lambaste him........it just makes you wonder why :suspect::suspect:

Perhaps some people are actually starting to get a little worried that he could actually bring the money people to heel, and bring a fairer country for us all to live in :):)

Slightly off topic, but I thought it was against eu rules to have state owned companies, hence the sale of royal mail, I'm well aware of the fact that the French and germans ignore this fact with their own state owned services, but how would he get them through into real life.

Also Labour has pro eu for many years now, so how would jc get these through his own party ?

  12. Several posters have disputed it if you bother to read the thread.

    ---------- Post added 09-09-2015 at 09:01 ----------

And no, you haven't given an example of a "light duty" that a nurse could do that would keep them away from patients.

And "whatever your employer wants" includes many, many things that would be outside the job remit of a nurse.

Obviously as the op, I've read the entire thread and can't think of anywhere I've seen that it's being denied ,in fact I would say everyone has agreed with that, just getting to that point of being healthy and who's responsibilty it is to pay for that bad been well argued so far.

  13. NOT IF IT SAVES MORE MONEY THAN IT COSTS.

Why can't you understand this simple concept?

    ---------- Post added 06-09-2015 at 19:24 ----------

So you can't actually give an example then?

Because it's nothing more than a concept ! Yet there is proof in the private sector what actually works !

And it's a 5 million pounds concept/gamble that could be used to actually save real lives save people's eyesight and change thousands of lives.

Not to mention a poster has already said a scheme like this but with yoga has already been tried and failed.

Why are you so desperate to gamble the nhs money away when the proof already exists what works !

  14. As a not long retired NHS employee ( in a position where I gave direct care to patients in a critical setting) can anyone tell me when employees such as me would be given the time to do these classes. During non-existent lunch breaks, which when they did exist are only 30 minutes? At the end of a shift, which should have been 8 hours, but often expanded to 9 or 10, and then I just wanted to go home, sleep and then return next day to do the same again? Sometimes, I didn`t even have time for a loo break! Sorry, but just not practical. It will never work. As for going to work when ill, we could have been half dying and still expected to come in to work

No idea when you are going to do them, and I don't doubt that you were genuinely working when ill, but would you rather see this money allocated to patient care instead of zumba classes ? Doesn't it just seem a daft idea when the nhs is crying out for investment ?

  15. If you read the posts carefully you will find that the discussion had moved on from the original debate at the time I posted to the subject of nurses specifically who work in a high dependency patient area not working when unwell themselves as this may cause harm to their patients.

    Regards

I believe the poster was going to try and get a scenario across but hasn't reposted since.

I can see though if you had skipped to the last page it might look like that.
