  1. Easy Street’s Theatre Company's youth group production of Jesus Christ Superstar will run at Sheffield’s Montgomery Theatre between 10 – 13 September 2014 at 7:30pm. Tickets are available from our hotline: 07542131449 and are priced at £12.00 for adults and £10.00 for concessions (OAPs and Under 12s). The story follows Jesus and his disciples as they return to Jerusalem. Judas Iscariot fears that Jesus and his followers will be seen as a threat by the occupying Romans, as Jesus may be taking his religious crusade too far. Will Judas stay loyal, or eventually opt for betrayal? The final days of Jesus Christ have arrived… A rock opera written by legendary Academy Award winning duo, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, Jesus Christ Superstar, brings the greatest story ever told to stage. Featuring hit songs such as ‘I Don’t Know How To Love Him’, ‘Superstar’ and ‘Heaven On Their Minds’; the international sensation it was the first of the Rice/Lloyd Webber musicals to be produced for the professional stage. Now, Easy Street Theatre Company is bringing the legend to Sheffield’s Montgomery Theatre.
  2. we lost our black male cat in Feb. We live on Abbeydale Road not far from you. Anyway today I had a text from someone on Buttermere Road to say a hungry looking black cat was seen in their garden yesterday. No further sightings but it might be worth you looking down that road just in case it's your cat? Hope you find him soon.
  3. Our 1 yr old black cat (male) went missing Sunday evening. he doesnt have a collar on but he is microchipped. We live on Abbeydale Road in between Woodseats Road and Archer Road. We've put flyers up, talked to neighbours, but no sign yet.
  4. Ah should have specified it's the premier for a Sheffield amateur theatre group
  5. A new musical theatre company, "Cutting Edge" is launching in Sheffield for over 18's. Their first show will be the Sheffield Premier of Avenue Q which will be performed at the Lantern theatre in June 2014. Open auditions for this exclusive 12-cast show are being held on Sunday 12th January at Easy Street Theatre company studios on Little London Road at 10am. Please email [email protected] for more info about the show and audition criteria.
  6. Easy Street Theatre Company presents CATS (youth group production) with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on 'Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats' by T.S. Eliot. All performances are at 7.15pm on 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th July at the Montgomery Theatre, Surrey Street, S1 2LG. Adults £12, Concessions £10 (OAPs/children under 12) Call ticket hotline on 0754-213-1449
  7. Face painters needed for stage production of CATS: A team of 10 face painters is needed (students or experienced) to work on a major production of CATS in July at the Montgomery Theatre with Easy Street Theatre Company. We have over 35 CATs to paint for the week long production, so it will be 3 or 4 faces pre-performance, starting at 5.30pm during the week of the 8th July till the 13th July. This is a perfect opportunity to add to your portfolio if you are wanting to join the ranks of the Association of Face painters or simply to get more experience. You would also need to be available for a couple of design meetings before and a test run 2 weeks before the show for programme photographs. Please note that these are NOT paid roles. There will hopefully be a small gratuity as we are a youth theatre company in Sheffield. Talent is in abundance, money unfortunately is not. But it will be worth it just to see your artwork on stage in the semi-professional show. If you are interested please contact Sal Foster-Major via email [email protected]
  8. I only had 8% on my phone so one of my neighbours with power phoned up and just got some message about them not knowing when it would be fixed. If you tell me who to email I'll send something too.
  9. Yes am not far from you and three yesterday. the first one late morning so I thought great, can't do the laundry or the hoovering, I'll go to town instead, but came back at 6 to another one and a very cold house, managed to cook a pan of pasta when it came back on, then another one around 8.30 for a couple of hours. NO idea why it is happening but it is ruining my weekend.
  10. Have to say I think the Antiques Quarter is fabulous - you can spend the whole day looking around the shops and stopping at the cafes and find some great bargains. Abbeydale Road from around Not Just Military, The Pad, Timewarp then up to The Vault near The Broadie, down past the swimming baths to the antiques emporiums (both huge), the Chapel and then to Langtons and the fairly new Heeley Bank Antique Centre (which has Hagglers Corner opposite with a fab cafe for home made soup and cakes).
  11. Tickets still available - 7.15 tonight and tomorrow and 2.30 matinee tomorrow. Pay at the door or book via hotline 0777-889-4860 / 0114-236-7906 £8 adult / £6 concession
  12. Anastasia - the Pantomime - will be performed for the first time ever, by Easy Street Theatre Company on 25th and 26th January at the Library Theatre. The pantomime has been specially written by Alan Frayn, one of Sheffield's favourite writers, and tells the story of Anastasia, the daughter of Tsar Nicholas II. The story takes us from 1914 St Petersburg to Paris in the mid 1920s, from the Romanov Empire, through World War I and into the birth of the Soviet Union. Historians have never been sure what really happened to Anastasia and many believe she escaped as the sole survivor of the dynasty. Frayn has interwoven the history with the magic of pantomime - so we have a royal family, a mad monk, tragedy, love, music, dance, comedy, and of course an unforgettable Dame, and a happy ending. Suitable for all the family and a great idea to fill the post-Christmas lull, book your tickets on the hotline - now open - on 0777-889-4860 / 0114-236-7906
  13. Easy Street Theatre Company will be performing Anastasia, a new pantomime written by writer Alan Frayn (who also writes the Manor Operatic Pantos). Opening at the Library Theatre on Surrey Street, for two nights only 25th and 26th January and a matinee on 26th, Friday night's opening will be a red carpet event with a champagne reception. The show tells the story of Anastasia, the lost Russian princess - told in panto form. Easy Street Theatre Company are a rising, talented youth theatre with a reputation of performing semi-professional shows at various Sheffield venues including the Crucible. Director, Sallianne Foster-Major says "building on the success of last year's performances of Les Miserables, Cloudbusting and Bouncers, and this year's Little Foot in the Crucible Studio and Barnum at the Blue Shed Performance space, we were approached by Alan to see if we would like to do Anastasia. The students jumped at the chance - pantomime is a new skill and incorporates drama, dance, singing, and comic timing - not to mention fantastic costumes and audience participation." Tickets are available now for this truly magical production. So if you are interested in more information or joining Easy Street, please contact Sal via email: [email protected].
