A slippery slope starts with a brink and then often a gradual decline into oblivion. I'm not deleting anything, not apologising, not being 'shamed' by the pompous

It's all very bad PR for Tesco, already infamous for their tax avoidance schemes they now have the taxpayer directly funding a proportion of their labour costs. There is also currently nothing to be prevent the disabled and terminally ill (if their life expectancy exceeds 6 months) being 'returned to work' in this fashion. This government scheme is also set to be expanded so that the 6 month time limit will be removed. Still it's a price worth paying to help eke out the meagre existence of Emma Harrison and her ilk.

    Black bins to go fortnightly?

They have disingenuously offered to fund councils the extra cost for 1 year but expect them to guarantee weekly collections for the next 5! There's a smokecreen OK - one laid by George Osborne and Eric Pickles
  9. I can guarantee that the cameras will have suffered a 'temporary fault' or been switched off or been pointing in the wrong direction at the critical time! - as was the case when a 6'6", 15 stone goon grabbed my daughter around the throat with his steroid enhanced fist after she objected to the thuggish ejection of another customer (who she didn't know). She was dragged upstairs and roughly shoved out of the main door. When I found out the following day I took her down to West Bar and she made a formal complaint- the Police visited the premises and discovered that the cameras had not been working at the time in question
  10. According to information supplied to date, the engineers should have finished by about Friday (28th) - in which case I don't understand why the repairs won't be completed until the new year 'at the earliest'
  11. We are being told that it the road will be repaired in the new year - "at the earliest" Why? If this had happened in Victorian 1890, it would probably have already been repaired by now........ or do we have to wait for the HSE to investigate? ..... or do we have to wait for lawyers from the City Council and Vinci Construction to argue about who's responsible for this shambles

    Classic Beers -Where Are They?

Does anyone out there know of any pubs in Sheffield where the following classic beers may be had: Batemans Triple XB Fullers London Pride Wadsworth 6X It's getting very difficult to find these anywhere outside of a bottle
  13. Hi Saturday League team (2.00 ko's) Hunter's Bar FC starting training on 3rd July Looking for triallists for promotion push in Hope Valley League Previous competitive experience absolutely essential contact: Jim huntersbarfc@hotmail.com
  14. There's been bags on our road since November! (I know you can phone to arrange a collection but obviously many don't) Broomhill Library ran out of green sacks in October....... the new scheme is going to run 8 months a year we are told.... and it's April already.........and no green sacks! Approval for the new scheme was given over a month ago........ I'm not sure why it needs approval as it sounds exactly the same as the old one closed last Autumn. Maybe the Council don't realise that Spring-time is a busy one in the garden but after 6 months without sacks my hedge clippings will be going in the black bin
