In the mid 60's I worked at British Acheson's on Claywheels Lane, the food in the canteen was great. They used to serve halibut which was quite a treat.

My dad was a fettler at newton chambers and it was to do with scrapping the excess bit off the mouldings

Get as much information as you can, registration number etc. The police should then be able to trace him. Once you have that - you need to keep good records of any communication you have with him. If he does not respond perhaps you could use the small claims court to get some of the cost back. I was a dog owner and I am sure that there is something in the house insurance that covers you if your dog causes damage e.g. dog bites

the 1939 register shows
Maureen Patricia Dunne(Webster) was born 1938 so hopefully she may still be alive
Kathleen R - 10 Dec 1903
Michael J 28 Aug 1894
Â
althought the 1939 have incorrectly transcribe him as Richard

The 'private' team he thinks was Totley FC but he is a bit vague.
-
My husband played football for Jim Withefords private football team, he was also a member of the winning team which won the Clegg shield 1960?

Was this Betty M Birkhead or Jessie M Birkhead?
Â
Yes sorry about that I have a Betty and a Jessie in my tree - yours is Jessie m Birkhead.
-
Lawson Lee born 1927 married Betty M Birkhead in 1954. He died in 1993. I can't find any children
-
Yes I think so - I checked the electoral roll for Kathleen who died in 2002 and she is on the roll along with Maureen Webster. I then checked the marriage register for a marriage of a Dunne and Webster and found a marriage to a Peter Webster in 1965, strangely he is not on the electoral with them.
-
The only Michael Dunne I could find was Michael Joseph Dunne he died in 1965 - probate shows a wife Kathleen Ralston Dunne. She was born 1904 died in 2002 but I couldn't find any children using a maiden name as Ralston - I couldn't find a marriage for a Michael Dunne to a Kathleen Ralston - perhaps they married in Ireland!!
Try posting your search on Sheffield Indexers they are very good at researching family history.

Just found Kathleen R Dunne on the electoral register in 2002 living with a Maureen Webster. Maureen P Dunne married a Peter Webster in 1965. I have looked for them but can not find any more info as yet.

I agree that the marriage certificate would help. It will give you the names of Ernest and Dorothy's fathers. There are too many Ernest Smiths on the birth register to chose just one. There are also many children with the surname Smith mother Turner

I was office staff at British Acheson but we had to clock in. We used to get works bus at the bottom of Claywheels Lane so if we were late we blamed the bus!

Have taken a look at this family - according to the 1939 register they did live 378 Coleridge Road. There seems to be 3 daughters Dora, Ethel and Isabella and a son Norman.
Isabella's married name was Hayman or Hyman and Dora's was Leadbeater. Ethel's was Pearson
Albert Truelove 10 Sep 1882
Isabella Truelove 17 Sep 1893
Dora Leadbeater (Truelove) 19 Nov 1916
Norman Truelove 25 Jul 1924 Male Engineering Work Single
Isabella Hyman (Hayman) 03 Nov 1912 Female
Ethel Pearson 22 Feb 1914

If this is the correct family- Georges daughter Annie married George William Barker in 1895. On the 1901 census they have two daughters Edith M born 1897 and Ellen W born 1900.
George Willford and daughter Annie can be found on some of the census returns living with Solomon Beardsley and his wife Ellen. Perhaps that is why she named her daughter Ellen!
Â
Also after Solomon Beardsley died in 1923 he left £360 1s 6d to Annie Barker wife of Geo Wm Barker
-
A little bit of info - James Willford married Margaret Hembrough - Yarborough,Lincolnshire in 1837
George William Willford had a daughter Annie born 1868 - in 1881 he is a widower. The 1871 census shows his wife as Martha and there is a marriage for George to Martha Foster in 1866

My father in law - sadly deceased was a tool maker at Viners. He went there from Mappin and Webb

Its coming up to my 50th anniversary of my stay in the Northern General. 19th July 1966 I was taken in and 26th July had part of my lung removed. I seem to recall being in intensive care when England won the world cup. The prognosis was limited life style but 50 years on I am still quite fit and the mother of three children. Happy days.
-
Have you tried going back on the census - you say he was born 1885 so go to 1891 and 1901 census records

Interestingly, James Jermyn's son - Nigel James Jermyn Hounsfield in on the 1939 register still living with his mother Sophia at Hackenthorpe Hall. He is down as incapacitated. Unmarried so perhaps it all ended with him!

I went out with John Shutt in the 60's he had brothers Raymond and I think Malcolm. They lived on Milrow avenue, Parson Cross
Â
Just checked and it wasn't Malcolm it was Brian. Their father was also John Shutt
