  1. I remember the Loomes children as I worked at Beck Road School as a dinner lady in the playground and canteen I also ran a junior club and Playscheme there in the mid 60's/70's . I lived on Perkyn Terrace. Anyone on here remember me?
  2. My broadband was out of use from 15th November until the 6th December. I kept being told that it was a problem at the exchange but when it was sorted someone would phone me to let me know that it wa back on.........did they heck. I have phoned Virgin today as no one has contacted me and unless I write to the head office all I will be offered is £14.99 - one months rental. In my opinion this is rubbish. I have phoned the 0845 number many times during the time that the site has been down so, unless I write to the head office, even though they know exactly what the problems have been and obviously all the calls I 've made have been logged on the site to them I cannot expect to receive anything more than the monthly rental. Surely the person on customer services must be able to see the number of calls made (and of course the time I spent waiting for them to eventually answer me) why should the unus be placed on me to get what I am entitled to. Will I stay with Virgin?
  3. Excuse me but have you been and looked at Ecclesfield Park lately. It really does look 'unloved'. But hopefull there are plans afoot to improve the park, hopefully.
  4. Hi Stewpot54. I remember one of the Hammond girls. I went to Woolley Wood School with her, Yvonne. I moved on to Hucklow Road and then to Hinde House to finish my schooling years.
  5. Wow did that scare me................... hope thats the end of it. Whole room shook and my bed.
  6. My suggestion is leave it......... someday it may become an interest to younger generations who will never have seen this type of 'fireplace'. Hey they were best of their times. Great Yorkshire puddings, stews and also rice puddings. Do you use yours for any of these. Do try it if it is still in its original state and for solid fuel use.
  7. Thanks babyboom, I knew someone would get back on this. Hey if any of the people on this site are interested in going sometime please let me know. They have some good night in there, although I have only been a few times I have really had a good time.
  8. Thought I had put a message on here but it isn't here. Yes Doug Frank White is still alive and playing, fantastically, in Sheffield. Saw him a couple of months ago at the pub that is now called The Riverside it is just round the corner from the bottom of Corporation Street, I seem to remember it as The Brown Cow! I am sure if I am wrong someone will correct me . It was a fantastic night and I am hoping to see him again when I next hear he is playing there. The last time I saw him prior to that night was when he used to play at the Pheasant at Sheffield Lane Top.....and that is a long time ago.
  9. Hello Doug Muir. Yes Frank White is still alive and playing. Saw him a few couple of months ago in Sheffield at the Riverside pub, just round the corner from the bottom of Corporation Street. It was a great night. I think he plays there every so often so if anyone wants to have a good (noisey) night out get yourselves down there. Not sure what the pub used to be called but Iseem to recall The Brown Cow but I am not sure someone here will correct me if I am wrong.
  10. I have quite a few snowdrops and you can see the yellow on the daffs....................
  11. I would also be interested in finding someone to do my garden at a reasonable price. It would be nice to find someone fairly local (north Sheffield) who could keep my garden neat and tidy on a fairly regular basis.
  12. I agree Keith, I would be interested but not in the age bracket. suggested...... why should us older ones not have the chance of a good night out
  13. I went there till 1952/3. Lived on Sycamore House Road. Anyone else. By the way if you go on Friends Reunited there are lots of people from that time on there. cheers. Mon
  14. Helllo Hillsbro........at last someone can rememer the things I can. My family think I am talking a load of twaddle at time....................now I know I am not.
