i teach folk to drive, and the level of abuse, lack of tollerance, thoughtfulness, and down right rudeness out there now is unbelievable. i have my pupils doing nothing wrong at all, and the lack of patience and abuse i/we recieve weekly is , well, you have to see some of the things to believe it. i kid you not, i had a guy in a white van, honest, . . at shiregreen , this last week, as we entered a roundabout to turn right he went right at the roundabout from behind us, only he decided to beat us by going across, effectively the wrong way into the flow of traffic, just to not be behind the young woman driving. what messages or experiences like this ,are sent out to our new drivers !

i,m looking to fish the river , probably down through hillsborough, neepsend way ? i havent fished the river apart from very locally , at oughtibridge, since the floods. pre floods, i used to go to the wier near winn gardens where there were some big fish to be had . i,m particularly after good sized barbel. any tips anyone. i want to take my 12 yr old who, upto now has only been with friends. and not caught much. been to marshals .up loxley. but seems to be off up there at mo.

By the way, to say that the examiners are an ok bunch, doesn't mean its a walk in the park down there. they are professionals doing thier job, and its up to you to do yours ! PLENTY OF NECESSARY CHECKS IN MIRRORS, DONT OVERLOOK AND BE HESITANT ! ie SIT AT JUNCTIONS LOOKING AT FRESH AIR CUS YOU THINK YOU HAVE TO DRIVE EXTRA SPECIALLY FOR THE EXAMINER. CANCEL YOUR SIGNAL AFTER PULLING IN, THEY WILL DO THIS SEVERAL TIMES ON TEST, . . . . HEY ! TO BE HONEST I COULD GO ON AND ON . . . . BE YOURSELF . . . YOU WILL DO IT.

are you doin ok with your lessons? have you had a mock test or two, cus if your instructor, assuming you have had one, should really have given you the feel of a test and what it involves, then you hopefully can relax a little more in the knowledge you are up to it. I,m an instructor and one of the nicest and most encouraging things an examiner ever said to one of my pupils was, as he had finished explaining the test just before going on it . . . ''you have passed your test now ! just keep on passing it for me over the next 35 mins or so . . . think of it like that, now are you ready'' ? and i could see that determination and realisation in my pupil that what was ahead wasn't impossible. The guys at the test centre are human, and i know the chaps at middlewood test centre, sheffield are an ok bunch. Any more advice, then drop us a line. . . good luck !

My daughter has had 3 yrs at hillsborough and i have been absolutely appalled that her totors who hold high paid jobs have treat her like they have. from placements,to work deadlines, to help with EMA. they have been less than helpful. However, i was there a couple of years ago and my own tutor was fantastic, full of enthusiasm for his subject. I did find there was a bit of a threatenong air about the place sometimes with cocky groups hanging around in the main area at break, who once spat at a friend as he walked past.

Impress driveways are very good. Family had work done and looks good. They have been around a while.

We need a few more clothing shops ! maybe a highstreet chain selling for men/women and kids. I personally think we need a quality mens clothing shop, nothing too high brow, just good , across the board gear, catering for many. Something on the lines of Fatface. I also agree about Hillsborough records, the guy in there was always helpful, and did throw in a bargain or two in if you shopped there and he recognised you ! alas, he said he was another victim of internet shopping. We only have ourselves to blame, maybe we should look for a happy medium more, and shop half and half, I,m sure nobody would deny anyone of trying to find a bargain online, especially in this economic climate, but as we have seen , the fun of browsing and shopping variety has all but disapperared. . . . BORING ! Just one last thought , is there anywhere such shops could be housed, like a mini Forum on Division street ,Sheffield ?

Does anyone know of someone who can repair interior bits 'n' bobs in my car. I need a handle replacing that releases my seat forward. I have bought the parts. Also need the electric window on the drivers side looking at. Basically I think it needs seating in its gripper better, as it makes a horrible craking noise when it first moves down ! I just think its that sort of job that I could tackle but it will end up going pear shaped and taking a weekend to put right !

just putting rubbish out about 20 mins ago, saw what I think was something falling to ground very fast like a comet or whatever the exact term is. It went shooting past overhead and disapeared over towards bradfield way, anyone else see it ?

i,m new to all this malarky so bear with me speedwise. question, > . . . has anyone seen a strange glowy orange light over oughtibridge in the skies at night. On friday having walked my dog at about 10.30 I returned home to find a neighbour staring up at the sky. There was only what I can describe as afore mentioned , hovering above , making small movements. There was absolutely no sound, and it was quite odd. My wife came aroud the corner in the car to say that she had seen it on her way back whilst getting closer to the village driving home, and wondered what it was ! It then just moved away to the northwest and disappeared. MY eldest son came in at 1.10 to see it in a similar area, however it was only in conversation later on sunday that he got enthusiastic about it, cus he thought it odd at the time , but alas he had had a bit of the old jungle juice , and thought nobody would take him seriously ! LAST night on walking the dog the same sight was seen again by my daughter at about 11.20pm. I dashed out. . . no sight , no noise. When she came through the door she said it was still overhead ! Spooky . . . anyone else seen it. What is it , or could it be.
