  1. Travelodge: http://www.travelodge.co.uk/search_and_book/hotel_overview.php?hotel_id=311 or look at Hostel sites.
  2. Yes!! Get yourself some Tesco Value shower gel 10p a bottle - sorted.
  3. Have a look at spare rooms website: http://www.spareroom.co.uk it gives lots of details about who you'd be sharing with and lists lots of places in Sheffield.
  4. Ive wondered but really could refer to any number of things: the movie 3:15 genesis 3:15 missionary prophecy experimental poets ??? or perhaps just when some kids finish school.
  5. I find www.netflights.com are fairly transparent with their pricing. Orlando might be good.
  6. How long has it been like that? Used to go to work that way until February. (But usually after 9.30)
  7. The Sheffield BDC number is: 0845 6001267. Don't know if you'll have any more luck than the 0114 number tho.
  8. I'm sorry but this is lunacy. By owe they mean have an outstanding balance at some point in the month but there is absolutely no reason not to pay it off in full each time. If you look at the terms and conditions you will likely be charged interest on the whole £6.99 each month, thus increasing your debt by this plus the 99p you're not paying (so its cumulative). Credit ratings are improved by using credit facilities and making the payments on time. The only time to make less than full payments is if you have a 0% for purchases card offer for x months - then pay all debt off just before it finishes.
  9. I was thinking about this. Maybe with us being an island surrounded by sea the water heats up more with global warming, evaporates and then falls on us as rain. The upside is we can sell the water to all the desertified regions of Africa and Asia in a few years time (joking).
  10. Sorry if this does send you to sleep but just wanted to point out that a 20-25% drop in a year would far exceed the 80s crash. The Halifax figures for average annual change: 1989 +20.8% £68,946 1990 0.0% £68,950 1991 -1.2% £68,130 1992 -5.6% £64,309 1993 -2.9% £62,455 1994 +0.5% £62,750 1995 -1.7% £61,666 1996 +4.5% £64,441 http://www.hbosplc.com/economy/HistoricalDataSpreadsheet.asp
  11. Was reading the times at work lunchtime and couldn't believe it but apparently 'it's the wrong sort of oil' for petrol, diesel and jet fuel. Middle of third paragraph: http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/columnists/article4193649.ece Surprising cos I'd always assumed it was Saudi oil we used for those things. But it's only good in that we don't have to use high quality Nigerian and North Sea oil for plastics by using the more heavy Saudi stuff. Ironic as government want to reduce packaging use anyway.
  12. The problem is that's so subjective; and because some people get very easily distressed, alarmed and intimidated virtually anyone can come under the order. Plus with the "or is likely to result" bit some imagined future scenario can be given as a reason. I remember this thread from a while back: http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=97373 Hopefully police trainings improved since.
  13. Oh come on, I'm afraid this is a pretty trivial gripe. Bins are only collected once a week and it's usually early in the morning. Delivery lorries might block the road once in a while - Ive only had to wait 5 mins once in two years - but if they aren't boxing you just in reverse and go out other end of street.
  14. Not trying to have a dig but why does an 18 yr old student need a car; and choose it over having a social life?
