I am also in the unfortunate position of being owed substantial monies from Urban Lettings. Having passed their offices on London Rd it is clear that they have now moved out of them. Does anyone know where they have moved to? Has anyone managed to succesfully serve legal papers against them?

Its Otto from the Med that has set up Ottos. He and Majid still run the Med too, but its aimed at different clientele. Med is higher end and speciality fish. I have been twice now to Ottos and took a big group for a Xmas meal. Its brilliant, BYO and licensed which is such a bonus and its very reasonable. Its not really moroccon but more italian, but there are other influences on the menu. They do have tagine, but they have steak, fish, pasta, chicken. Its really good service, really good food and I really wish them all the best as Ottos works so hard and really deserves praise for what will be a brilliant new additional to the area xx

I can see you have had some very sensible answers already but as a recruiter I just wanted to comment. It’s a shame that so many people have negative experiences with recruitment agencies, myself included! The purpose of a good agency is to have access to, and a good understanding of the best companies to work for in Sheffield. A good consultant will take the time to get to know you and what you need from a job, and go out of their way to find it for you. What you will find with different agencies is that they have access and a route into different organisations so identifying the right one for the sector you wish to enter is crucial. Secondly the consultant you get makes all the difference, as the average lifespan of a consultant is 6 months (high street recruitment is a very pressurised, target driven environment, few survive long term) therefore most consultants have little knowledge of the organisations they are recruiting for, and can be more concerned with hitting their own targets than finding you a job you actually want. Independent consultancies often offer a more personalised service; they rely heavily on their recommendations and referrals so generally offer a higher level service.
