  3. HI! We are providing mics and stands, PA tops and a desk. We are asking participants to bring their own amps and instruments and just play a few songs. Very informal but may lead to a regular event for the right acts. Hope this helps!!
  4. There is an informal jam session being held at The Cross Scythes on Baslow Road, Totley this Sunday from 4 pm. A simple PA system is provided along with a few snacks and beers for participants. Contact Ferg or Sarah on 01142363747 for further details. No line up, just step up and play!!! Could lead to a regular set for the right acts!!
  5. Anyone else hate Mondays? I've started to go to the Quiz at The Cross Scythes in Totley where you get fed, usually something like mini toad in the hole and gravy, there's a free quiz and its a really good laugh. Nice crowd with lots of interaction. At the minute, there are about 5 regular teams, it'd be great to see it grow. Its pretty much the only pub still going in the area and they're giving things a good go up there. Hope to see some more faces if anyone's free from around 9. Hope to see a few of you there.x
  6. ps i used to work there so am just curious to know how they are making a go of it?!?
  7. I have been in the Cross Scythes on Baslow Road, Totley, a couple of times since it re-opened and wondered if anyone knew anything about the management team there and if they are there to stay? They seem to be friendly enough, but there are so many rumours around what is going to happen there, I can't keep up!! Its a great pub, and i would hate to see it close like the others in the area. Does anyone know anything about them or what is likely to happen up there?
  8. Calling all Girls to the Monday night quiz at The Cross Scythes, Baslow Road, Totley from 8.30 pm. 10. Hi there, Do you need to book to come along? I'm a total beginner but keen to have a go. Thanks,
  11. Nothing that I know of. My teeth hurt from the choc fest yesterday so i'm gagging to get out for some boxing day activity. I reckon a walk around the local area, maybe wander into town is the best bet. There's bound to be something going on. The lyceum and other bits are open and the big wheel would be mad to miss out on all the mental shoppers' money!!
