  1. I just wondered if anyone had any experience or thoughts to share on Riverdale Grange Eating disorders unit as an inpatient? I'm being admitted on Monday and extremely anxious about it. I don't know what to expect, been to look around and its a lovely place but anyone with personal experience to share or reassurance would be much appreciated. I suffer with high levels of anxiety which are building the closer I get to Monday!!! Any help or advice would be much appreciated. A very nervous tweed.
  2. For the record, I don't run the gym no. I recently came out of hospital and have been working on gaining strength and building my fitness up as I was very week and had little energy. The staff have helped me immensley, I just thought I'd give credit where its due. Thanks for the negative vibe though, whatever floats your boat!
  3. Underground Fitness are a small family run gym with a fantastic range of equipment, free weights, boxing area and cardio section. TRX, Powerplates, and never packed out as thats the ethos of the gym. They limit their members so no one is ever waiting for a machine. Its cheap, the trainers are fabulous, I can't rate it enough after joining a couple of months ago. 01142353298 I think for enquiries and a look around the club. Good luck!!
  4. Pies, cakes, lots of wheat and fatty foods are only going to irritate your colon and more than likely make you feel crap. I agree with a milky drink, think omega 3 so oily fish, avacado, nuts and dried fruit for snacking if you are a picker!!! A protein shake a day is a good idea, banana's, sweet potatoes made into wedges? You can get the calories through food but complan is a good alternative if you are struggling to increase your portion sizes. Smoothies made with Yoghurt are good, seeds, fruit and vegetables. Try and keep things on you to snack on during the day, especially if you are busy or on the move. Also maybe try yoga or pilates in order to try and rebuild the mind / body connection and eventually your body will respond to its nutritional needs naturally the more it and your brain communicate effectively. Anxiety relief is also a result of this type of activity. How are you getting on?
  5. Underground Fitness on Ecclesall Road South are amazing. Includes nutritional advice, full consultation of body fat %, % of muscle mass and water so you can really see whats going on in your body and the progress you're making. Which you do!! Hope that helps. x
  6. I think there are limited membership places so it might be worth giving them a call to have a further chat before they all go!! The number I called was 0114 287 0691. Hope you join, I'm Sarah so if you do then make sure you say hi!! Take the plunge!! Hope that helps x
  7. I can't rate it enough!! I love it, the training programme I've been given is fantastic and totally different to the way I usually train but more effective. Its challenging, but thats what I want!! The staff are so friendly and helpful, and have a really great attitude to helping you get what you want out of a gym. My mum is joining, and the limited membership numbers seem to be going quick. It might be worth going and having another look around, maybe doing a pay as you go workout and getting a feel for it. Best thing I ever did, I've only been there a few weeks, made friends, feel the benefit and have a great new programme!! I say go for it! x
  8. I've recently found a fantastic new gym, Underground Fitness behind the Park Head pub on Eccie Rd South and am really enjoying their classes, especially the morning Zumba on Mondays and now Wednesdays at 9.30 am which is great for me just in time for after school pre coffee!!! I've had my induction, and now have the option of having a personalised programme designed for just a tenner (which I think is well worth it as they do really take your needs and goals into consideration) or PT sessions which are slightly more expensive but again seem reasonable for the potential outcomes!! What are the gym bunnies thoughts on here? I think the tailored programme is at a promo rate at the mo and is reviewed after 4-6 weeks or so......loving the gym, loving the classes, just not sure where to go with the gym floor stuff. I'm really enjoying it there and the trainers are SO friendly!! Any thoughts would be appreciated though... Thanks!
  9. Sounds good. Particularly the group PT on Sunday mornings. Is there room to book on for this week?
  10. Yeah, it has gone a bit like a learning centre for kids but its still free and has got a lot of interesting stuff in it. Snowy has shrunk in the wash, I always remember the polar bear being enormous and the best bit and now Im taller than her (I'm 5f4!!!). Its free, and its interesting, so I'll be there. Nice grounds and access to Crookes Valley Park nearby if its not ******* it down. Thanks for the info re opening times!
  11. Does anyone know if its Sunday hours at the museum tomorrow or is it closed altogether. Can't believe so far I've checked ice sheffield, skate central on Queens Road, and neither of them are open to the public tomorrow!! If the weather is crap i'm well and truly stuffed!! Anyone got anything cheap and cool in mind? Highland fling in Graves is cancelled so thats another option out of the window Any thoughts???? Thanks muchly xx
  12. There is a Zumba class held at Ashdell School in Broomhill on Monday nights at 7pm which is by far the best I've ever done. I've been to numerous different ones, finding some are too crowded, too hard to follow, not energetic enough (more of a gentle jig around) and some with very dodgy music!!! This one is pay as you go, to those great latino style beats and really gets you going! The instructor is amazing, she's clear and although the moves are really varied depending on the track, she's clear, easy to understand and also runs her own gym up at Park head under the pub. I was thinking about becoming a member there and now I'm even more encouraged!! Is anyone else a member and do you have PT there? Thoughts appreciated, its hard to find an all round good place to work out and get results in a comfortable environment. Thanks guys!!
  13. Has anyone tried Underground Fitness gym where the wacky warehouse used to be under the Park Head Pub on Ecclesall Road South / Abbey Lane?? I went there for the first time this morning and its amazing!! I didn't even know there were there? I got to have a look around and the staff, atmosphere, equipment really surprised me. They are really personable, and after explaining my goals I left feeling like they actually cared about what I wanted to achieve and told me things I've never been suggested before. I'm currently at Virgin, but this one is much cheaper, seem much more up to date in their approach and I'm seriously considering moving there. (plus its cheaper!!) Classes look great but unfortunately the yoga class isn't happening which I wanted to try. Has anyone else been? Any views or opinions would be much appreciated before I commit. Thanks guys

  15. Joch on the forum sorted mine for nothing. Cleared the whole lot - I didn't make any money but the convenience was more than worth it. Good, honest, quick and really nice guys. His number is 07732728745. He even dropped the keys off for me when he'd finished!!
  16. How about a photography party? Leeds Stills Photography provide themed parties to include a full photography package. Really reasonable and they cover all of Yorkshire. The website is http://www.leedsstills.co.uk. I'd highly recommend them.
  17. Thanks guys, I wonder if people get approached for feeding the squirrels in there too? They are usually the people that ask me to put him on a lead!!
  18. Is anyone able to clear this up for me? I've spoken to the rangers in the Botanical Gardens with regard to my dog being ok without his lead and also see many other dogs in there trotting along happily without leads. The ranger informed me that as long as he wasn't on the flower beds, he was ok. I've been approached about 5 times now by users of the gardens requesting that I put my dog on a lead and that it is a bylaw?? Does anyone know the ACTUAL rules? Any advice appreciated, my dog loves it in there and I don't like him being restricted to a lead all the time! Thanks all,
  19. Managing a pub can be a thankless task. Its all about targets, and there's no landlord and regular customer relationship anymore. Wages budgets are virtually none existant, and the Companies that employ managers, can be very cut throat. I ran pubs for years, and as time passed the environment totally changed. I had very little support and huge pressure and demands put on me with little interest or visits from my area managers. All they cared about were the figures, not the fact that the kitchen was illegal to work in because of its ill repair and the state of the accommodation and rest of the pub, leaks, a potentially fatal electrical problem which I ended up paying for myself.....I wouldn't do it. Not unless its freehold and you're not tied to anyone. Hope that helps.
  20. Thanks for all the replies. I'm just going through numbers and quotes and will get back to all replies as soon as possible. The house is tenanted until 28th January so this is hopefully the day I would like to arrange the clearance. Thanks again all, if anyone that has replied is not available on that day please let me know.
  21. I've got a property with a sale completing at the end of Jan. Its fully furnished, and has been let to professionals. The furnishings are in generally good condition, and I wondered if anyone had got any experience with employing a house clearance business to simply clear the whole house of its contents. The furnishings do have value, I'm just not really interested in selling them separately as it is a huge inconvenience, I'm not in the area and can't really provide viewings. I have pictures so can possibly try and sell them on ebay, but just want the simplest and most convenient solution. Do house clearances provide a price for the furniture they remove or do I have to pay them to clear the house? If anyone can either provide some info, or advice on the process it would be much appreciated! I don't have much time so someone with availability to help out sooner rather than later would be better for me. Thanks guys!!
