  1. My mum tried the EGGS BENEDICT at Patisserie Valerie the other day and she said they were pretty amazing.
  2. We took our 6 month old son to asg photography on middlewood road. Alan was great and got a really good photo of a wriggling baby in about 5 minutes and only cost about £10 for four passport sized photos which i thought was a bit of a bargain from a professional photographer. Will definately be returning with my baby daughter in a couple of months time for her passport photos.
  3. Thanks for all your comments, you have given us somethings to think about.
  4. We are thinking of moving into the area where the catchment school is rivelin primary. As our son is about to start school we are trying to find out the general attitude towards the school. I know it has recently had a big shake up with a new head teacher and new members of staff and just wondered if the school is benefitting from it?
  5. they have them in sainsburys on archer road. we got one for our little boy who is in 9-12 months but not sure what age they go up to.
  6. i absolutely love this time of year as i can get my pumpkin pie fix. will def. be heading to waitrose to stock up on pumpkin puree so i can have it all year round. thanks for the tip mc55. For those who haven't had it before give it a try - you won't regret it! loads of recipes on the internet but mostly in the americanised measuring system (cups). It's everywhere in america but hasn't really made it to england yet (along with green tomatillo enchiladas which i am still waiting for!).
  7. Thanks for all the info poppypoppy I have pm'ed you
  8. Hi Thanks for the reply. It is a small world:D not heard of dennis before though. was he George and Edith Lockwood's son?
  9. hi my grandad and great grandparents lived at number 4 Goulder Terrace from early 1940s to the early 1950s. My great grandad Jack McGarry was away in India and Burma for some of the time leaving behind my great grand mother Nellie and my granddad Derrick and his brother Douglas at that address. My great great Grandparents, George and Edith Lockwood lived just around the corner at 54 Carltonville Road. Your Dad must have been at Goulder Terrace just before my great grandparents moved in!
  10. Doing some family history tracing and found one of my relative lived on Goulder Terrace in Carbrook. I don't think the street still exists but does anyone know the vague location of the street now or what has been built on top of it?
  11. there is one down whitham road, broomhill (across from richer sounds). went there once years ago and it was pretty good
  12. At the moment it is quite difficult to get into the ambulance service. Services in the surrounding areas are merging and most have frozen intake until they sort out who works where! Probably best to consider the course at SHU. Sends people out with diplomas in paramedic science which gives a bit of a step into the job. People skills definately important to develop though as that is most of the job.
  13. I was out walking my dog when this happened. It was pretty weird to see the wall collapse right in front of me. Not what you expect when you are having a quiet walk! Although on saying that there were some pretty weird banshee-like noises just before so i figure it must have all been connected!
