  1. Poor old PT. We had some laughs over the years. RIP. x
  2. Our condolences Medusa. This must have been a horrible shock for you and her many other friends. RIP
  3. If comfort is your issue, have you thought about a bluetooth carkit? I use one a bit like this one. You can clip it to your sun visor while it is folded away and the sound quality is excellent. I use mine just about every day and it only needs to be taken indoors to be charged about once every five or six months. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/201083803793?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108&ff19=0
  4. Thank goodness, I thought it might have been destined to be another of those pesky local independent shops! There just aren't enough places in Hillsborough to get a drink already.
  5. I am incredibly sad to hear John has passed away. He was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. My condolences to John, Steve and Jenny. Night Red. x
  6. I've always referred to them as Cheese Houses too, but never got why they were called that.
  7. I don't know why so many estate agents are hated when so many of them are so clearly pleasant :/
  8. Hi, My neighbour has lost her cockatiel this evening, it got free and escaped out of a window. The bird is about three months old and pretty tame. My neighbour knows it's likely he won't come back, but if anyone spots him, or even better manages to catch him, she'd be very grateful. He disappeared about an hour or so ago in Hillsborough, quite close to the park. Thanks!
  9. Don't you mean you've answered the wrong question?
  10. Sorry, I consider this to be pretty serious, and what I've highlighted in bold makes me very nervous. Where is it you work?
  11. My bold. Well, your post interested me, to the point where I've ordered a copy of the full inspection findings to be sent to me under a Freedom of Information request. It's the first FOI I've ever done, and I'm looking forward to seeing it.
  12. IMO, The star rating ought to have to be published on the menu in a sit down establishment, and on the takeaway menus and on the 'menu board' in the establishment for a takeaway. Not in tiny writing either, there ought to be a minimum amount of space allocated like on cigarette packets. Not the same proportion of space obviously, but large enough for customers to make an informed choice.
  13. So, imagine we were friends in real life, and you'd seen my kitchen and it was proper rank. Would you want to come around for me to cook you a Chinese meal?
  14. The family decided to have a takeaway last night. I was feeling a bit off-colour, so didn't want much to eat, so they decided on a Chinese as it's my least favourite. There's three Chinese takeaways literally bang next to each other on Middlewood Road, and we had menus for all three; I'm so pleased we didn't choose Canton King. The last council health inspection rates the level of hygiene, and the working environment as, in their own words 'Very Bad'. They also add they have no confidence in the management. Why did they not just close it down? Surely, if it was 'Very Bad' someone could likely become ill eating from there. 15. Only just caught up on your thread RR. Crying again. Much love to you both xxx
  16. Well, as a result of this thread, and the fabulous CS I have had via e-mail and over the phone from Origin (thanks Neil!) I have signed up today. As someone that has managed Call Centres for more years than I care to remember, I've never had an experience that has been so 'un-call-centerey'! Unscripted chat, pleasant e-mails, fab response times. So, it seems like so far so good. I will, of course, be reporting back on how things go. Dead excited now as I bought a new internet connected TV a couple of weeks back, that won't play iPlayer properly over my Virgin Media ADSL connection. On reflection , I may need to get things in perspective on the whole excitement frontage!
  17. Absolutely thrilled to hear the good news. I've laughed and cried reading your update, and then your story of the shopping trip. Much love to you from us three! xx
  18. Me too! It just makes my blood boil...
  19. My bold. I think you have to be a very strong person to be able to just internalise that kind of experience. Most days I come home complaining about something or nothing, and I just work in an office.
