  1. Haha, just seen your reply Phil. Ben popped the vouchers round to myself personally today, this is much appreciated as I have a 4 week old nipper in tow, so trips to town now take hours rather than minutes!! I can also confirm that Ben also was devoid of Brycream and CK aftershave! Thanks for sorting this out for me. Best Wishes
  2. Hi all Just wondering if anyone has received a voucher from Crucible Estate Agents having referred a friend to use them for selling their house? I advised a mate to use them earlier in the year, as I had found them very good when selling my property last year. He sold his house, and a few weeks later I received a form to fill in to claim a £100 voucher for having referred a friend to use them. This was a lovely (and totally unexpected) surprise, and I duly filled the form in and posted it to their city office. Having heard nothing from them for nearly a month I contacted them, and after a few phone calls they said that it had never reached them. Another form was posted out to me, and as advised, I handed this into the City office in person. This was over a month ago and O have still heard nothing from them, despite having emailed them on a number of occasions. Basically I am wondering if anyone has successfully received a voucher from them for referring a friend? I feel a bit stupid chasing this up, but I am really disappointed with their response to my queries.....
  3. Hi Zoowatch. We moved to the Triangle estate over 7 years ago, and I've been very happy here, friendly neighbours, and people always speak when I'm out walking the dogs. I never knew this area before moving over, but have been very happy here (close to M1, 52 bus route, ASDA, High Hazels Park, Handsworth Rec etc etc) and am now looking at moving into a bigger property, further up Handsworth way. I have walked through The Gateway a few times, and although not my cup of tea (I prefer a decent garden if at all possible), the properties look nice and they are obviously selling well. I apologise for hijacking this thread, but I was wondering what people thought about Woodhouse Mill area. I have used the kennels there on occasion, and sometimes got a bit of a whiff from the sewerage(?) works down there. Does anyone live near here, and is there any smell issues? The properties down that way look pretty ideal!!
  4. Worth a try? http://www.berdalecentres.co.uk
  5. I can also concur about how good Dot and the staff who work at the Kennels are. My old Bassett went there on numerous occasions, and had never been kenneled before. I even went to pick her up one day when I was running late, and Dot was feeding her chicken meat in her own kitchen!! When we went away abroad for a few weeks, she was more than happy to speak to me when I called to see how she was doing......speak to her about your concerns, she will reassure you. She now takes care or my two daft staffies (who I rescued from her), whenever I go away, and they are always happy (but very tired due to the over excitement of the other dogs) when they come home. I do sometimes wonder if the dogs have a better holiday than me......I have had no experience of any other kennels, but have no need to when the Hollows has always been so good for my lot!!
  6. We took in a 9 year old bassett bitch and had 4 wonderful years out of the stubborn, smelly old girl. We were lucky to have had her... I hope someone gives her the chance of a happily ever after, would love to myself, but I don't think my two would take to a newbie trying to rule the roost!!!
  7. Well I've roasted a few for them, so will supervise their eating of them....I was worried about the parasite that can be in raw pork, but then I worry about the splintering of cooked bones! It's tough to know what is the best for our little ones, I'm sure they wouldn't worry so much were the boot on the other foot!!!!
  8. Hi all Got a bargin job lot of pigs trotters from the butchers earlier. I have put them in the freezer for now, but was wondering whether my dogs can have them raw, or should I roast them?? Their normal diet is just dried biscuits, and they have had the trotters from pet shops in the past.. Thanks in advance for any suggestions....and no I don't fancy eating them myself!!!
  9. Oh yes to both comments!!! They deserve it though! Gemima, unfortunately they are both non-swimmers, they really are pretty unadventurous, I thought staffies were butch!!! But good to know that they are easily washed....
  10. Piccies.....harnesses worked a treat on our 10 mile hike yesterday .
  11. That's much like Rods, he will go out in the rain. for a walk, but just cries all the time however Saus, just doesn't care. A few month ago when it was torrential rain and we were out for a walk, Rods collapsed, I had to leave the Saus at the corner shop and carry him home, once home he was right as rain (pardon the pun). To this day I don't know if he was manipulating me!!! Anyway, hopefully the little coats will stop him whining so much!!!
  12. Just to thank Gemima for all her help today. The harnesses have actually lessened the dogs pulling, which is brilliant, and they look very snazzy in their new coats!!!
  13. Thanks for the advice as regards the leather harness. I worry that they would cut into their skin a bit, especially as the big lad has such sensitive skin. So want to try the fleece lined first....especially as they can be easily washed.
  14. Thankyou both for your replies, goldenbabe1966 thanks for the link to measurements. Gemima, do you have a shop in Dinnington I could visit?
  15. Hi all Need to get my two dogs a coat, as they are whining in the rain, and are obviously feeling the cold. They are both staffs, one is a little runt (!) and the other is a big lad (and it is him that suffers the most as he barely has any chest hair!!!). What coats would people advise? I also want to get them both new harnesses, as there others are on the way out, however are there any practical issues combining a coat and harness. What parts of them should I be measuring to size them accurately? I was going to order online, but would really like to see some, and was wondering if there is anywhere (other than the obvious Jollyeyes and Pets at home) that holds a good stock??? Thanks as ever....
