Would you employ a member of the Green Party?
johnphilip replied to RobbyBrown's topic in Sheffield Business & Employment
Not sure if this thread is an attempt to be a troll. I see one or 2 threads that ask the question, would you employ a member of the BNP? I think this thread simply turned the debate on its head and asked if people would exclude someone based on which party they are a member of. Surely people have a right to support whatever party they wish, its a free country after all -

Snow, including predictions, for winter 2007
johnphilip replied to WintersMist's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I think you have hit the nail on the head. If its gonna snow, then do it properly What I hate is when we get about 2 inches, because 1) the snow turns to black ice so quickly, people falling on their asses (its funny when it happens to someone else) 2) Its not deep enough to justify not going to work (can't say I can't get off the road cos of the snow) 3) And the big one...... there are people out there, who struggle to drive when its raining. When its snows, these people reak havoc Lets have a Blizzard.... a proper one..... -

Am I the only one to get fed up of the Mild, Wet and windy weather? sick of getting drenched Apparently last week, the nighttime temperatures were what you would expect in June (11c). Does anyone long for snowstorms and some freezing weather? a proper winter, like we used to have -
The national speed limit, what should it be?
johnphilip replied to Mini_Cooper's topic in General Discussions
Should it not also depend on what car you drive? For example, if your car is slightly gay (Jeremt Clarksons words) such as a Daewoo then obviously the speed limit should be 70. But if you have gone to the expense of purchasing a 3.0 litre beast, such as a Jaguar, then why should that person be limited to 70mph, the car is clearly capable of going over 100mph -
Advice needed - Electrician training?
johnphilip replied to SteveWilson's topic in Sheffield Business & Employment
Sadly, many courses will qualify you at great expense for absolutly bugger all. Getting qualified is easy, being able to do the job is another matter. Be very careful, when throwing lots of money at courses -

Crikey only 8 cars waiting for a Car Wash, god help anyone who needed the Police. Is this not a clear example of Police Time and resources not being put to its best use? DISGRACE -
Most people who are single do that already, ie go out with a group.

Just seen this proposal by David Milliband, seems interesting. It appears that If I use lots of carbon I will have to buy more Carbon Credits. Am I reading this wrong? If I don't use alot of Carbon, I can sell some of my Carbon Credits to someone who does Pollute (uses lots of Carbon Credits). Now this could be just the thing I'm looking for, I could pack in work, sit at home enjoying the easy life, and then sell my carbon credits to my neighbours, there is one who is a Kitchen Fitter, he drives a dirty Van polluting everyone, another who is a Sales Rep, Driving up and down the country IN A CAR..... USE A PUSHBIKE MATE  How much will each credit be worth? I could make a fortune, selling credits to all the idiots who work
