  1. having read all about global warming and the effects this is having as in causing flash floods etc then all the black cab drivers in sheffield should hang their heads in shame. Why do you need to sit everywhere with your engines running??? No wonder 1) fares are so high ,if you switched your engines off you'd use less diesel 2) The ammout of poloution your causing to our city would drop by a dramatic ammount.
  2. try contacting tom tom technical support. if they can't help it could be a fault with the sat nav which requires sending back for repair.
  3. i have a private plate and have transfered it 3 times as i've changed cars, of the 3 times it has taken different ammounts of time on each occasion, this really confuses me as the process is the same and it appears to be down to whever actually serves you at the counter when you visit the dvla. The quickest is 10 mins when i produced all required docs and payment and friendly lady went away printed new mot,tax disc etc and gave them me there and then, The longest was a week when i went again with all required docs and payment, the miserable old G*t behind counter said i don't need this and that took my money and said it would be posted in a couple of days, 4 days later get letter saying "we can't process as xy&z is missing". Went back straight away and lad behind counter just looked shook his head and did it there & then. In summary i don't think there's a set time just depends on how bothered or interested the clerk is when you get there.
  4. They've dropped their prices somewhat look at what they used to demand, looks like they are gearing up 4 taking someone to court now the fines are somewhat justifyable not extortionate. If they have photographic evidence that the driver is the owner and of sinage at the location it's a fair bet that a judge would side with them in a county court, if they did you would end up with costs and a ccj too.
  5. Theres another BBQ going on somewhere that all the drivers are attending this weekend too (17th) Really where is it and whats the weather forecast??????
  6. it would be a lot easier if the general public were denied access to the front of the station and only taxis were let into the station front area, you only have to stand outside the station for 10 mins to see the stupidity arrogance and complete ignorance of the majority whom drive in can't see a parking place and so start what everyone agrees is a major log jam all round cross turner st round the multistorey and out on to the ring rd
  7. emt will increase the revenue income enabling them to make the agreed payments to dft in relation to franchise. I do believe that there have been many blockades of the station over recent months at peak times to catch persons travelling without tickets, it is my understanding that when this occurs two things happen 1) the takings at the booking office increase significantly £1000s in only a couple of hours 2) people are cautioned and prosecuted for travelling without paying both of which prove the need for barriers to stop people travelling fraudulently which inadvertently costs us all as tax payers
  8. taxi's don't need ranks in sheffield. the drivers make their own up every day/night
  9. the cuts, have been happening year on year for the past 3/4 years, all to do with budget constraints. As for calling riot police in to all schools i'm certain there would be uproar with all the usuall do-gooders/tree huggers claiming civil rights infringement, suing the schools and police forces because our "tarquin" can't sleep at night for fear of living in an oppressed state,
  10. hey burst the bubble, i don't want any extra taxes i think we pay more than enough legitimate ones without sneeky what else can we extract taxes, but I really believe we will be hammered be it city centre shopping complexes airport business parks they're looking at ways to extract those extra pounds
  11. on top of petrol, insurance, tax & parking charge? starts to add up and get very close me thinks
  12. Because they'e busy cutting the number of police officers (source the times 24/02/09)
  13. because diesel's cheeper on them routes and they pay those drivers less (i don't think)
