  1. Try shops that sell maternity clothes, like mothercare, mamas and papas, etc. Good luck
  2. Yup British Gas all the way for us too. We're now paying £87 a month (i know that still sounds a lot to some people but i like to be warm, have hot water when i want it and don't like sitting in the dark) previously this was over £110 a month They allow us to have an online account get bills online etc and it saves even more money, got lots of free light bulbs as well. I did do a uswitch thing last month and they came out the top for my area (S25) for me and my usage.
  3. I live in North Anston, its quiet, houses are still cheap and its still on the up!! The shops are ok enough to get you by but with Worksop Sheffield and Rotherham near by the location is excellent. 4 miles from the M1, 8 miles to the A1. Its one of the cheapest council tax in Rotherham as well. Its a bit strange as its a Worksop phone number, Sheffield postcode and Rotherham tax so we're in a weird place! Good luck!!
  4. I got rid of it in Jan last year, saved £35 a month and we do more around the house and spend more time together instead of watching tv. We kept the box and now get freesat as we're not in a freeview area. TBH the only extra's you get with buying sky is extra music, documentary, and a few other channels.
  5. I would have mentioned plusnet too however the op wants payg broadband/internet so i assume they only want to pay when they want to use it.
  6. I don't think there are any payg broadband providers due to the cost incurred in renting the line on your behalf. It might be worth looking at 3 as they have their wireless dongle thing that you can use on a payg basis
  7. I'm with british gas, and based on my usage they are the cheapest for me in u switch, for a long time it was EDF but i never changed, i pay around £80 a month for gas and electric for a 3 bedroomed very warm semi. Am not in S5 though, i suppose it doesn't matter who you go with from day one as you can always move. I've never had a problem with British gas, i get free light bulbs, online access to my account and can give them meter readings when i like. Powergen are rubbish, my rental house was with them and they are bad.
  8. When our rental house is empty we don't pay the council tax, we get 6 months for free as long as the dates match up with when they love in, however we cannot rent to students (mortgage reasons) so am not sure if this is the same for students
  9. We've been bitten by this before we well. Thankfully i knew where they have come from orignally, done a bit of googling and found there were two people with the same surname, called them and the first one said "oh yes thats my son and of fourse you can forward all the bills here, i'll pass them on" So thats what I did. I always make sure that all bills are in their name, i'd give them any address you have for him. Good luck
  10. I had soft touch lillys for my wedding, they weren't silk or plastic but had a lovely soft feel to them. Got 80 of them for £30 of ebay, bought some grasses, leaves etc and my mum made everything for me. I was on a budget, time was against me and I was getting married 300 miles away so i did'nt want to bring all the flowers with me nor get someone local to make them for me. Its a great idea, I've still got my flowers in a box and its something else to show the children (when they appear) Good luck
  11. I just dabbed the kittens with water that had boiled and cooled down and cotton wool. It'll soon stop the older they get
  12. i work in a call center, i like having targets at least there is something to work towards. I also enjoy talking to people, i never get a sore throat, and if i'm not feeling well there are other roles i can do instead of taking calls. I've been there for a year and loving it, but its not Ventura. I too have heard bad things about that place.
  13. I believe they replace it with what they can as the OP requested a Nokia and they explained 3 days this was not acceptable at the time. A replacement was offered. Excess is on everything, £25 for a mobile is pretty good, if you pay insurance there is still a price to pay to get the product. Not so good about it being blacklisted, however it has essentially been written off when the OP claimed on the insurance. So yes you are expecting to much!
  14. What happened is that when BT where called by the lodger a PSTN cease was placed which even though you sorted it with BT the cease needs to be manually stopped. When you speak to BT they generally don't know what these are, they stop ALL services on the line, therefore causing the broadband to stop as well. Now, as long as the line was active when Tiscali tried to place the order it should have been done for the 23rd for you (if it was ceased on the 16th) sometimes it can take 48 hours for them to see the line if administrative work has been done by BT. If the order was placed whilsts the PSTN cease was going through any order placed by Tiscali will be cancelled. Sometimes the broadband goes of 3-4 days prior to the cease completing. So by you calling them when its stopped, someone there didn't check, placed the order, gave you a date and you went away. The order would then be cancelled as soon as it was ordered "duplicate order in place". Not sure where getting it back online in 48 hours came from, a BT order takes 5 working days MINIMUM. Sometimes it can complete earlier however its not guaranteed. Keep at Tiscali, however they may try and charge you to get it back online, its classed as a new connection. Every ISP has different charges. Make sure you check it with them. Good luck and hope this makes it clearer for you
  15. We pay £90 combined but we like it warm as we have lots of animals. We're with british Gas. I've just done a uswitch and found we should be on their new package, which will save me £200 a year. It used to be Scottish Power that would save me money but never been in a position to change. I always wanted to be at Zero which I am now.
