  1. Beck Primary School at Shiregreen is collecting them and we could REALLY do with them to improve our outdoor garden opportunities. Please send there if you have any. They will be put to good use. Thanks.
  2. I agree about the pub being a big part of the problem. Chavs sat outside swearing, generally being prats all hours of the day. Youths in cars too, hanging around. Last week at about 8.30pm i was across at the co op when a lad from a car threw what appeared to be a bottle at the bus shelter smashing it for what must be the 100th time this month. Shockingly it shattered all over a young pregnant lady who was waiting for a bus with her bloke who ran to the car obviously annoyed. The lads were laughing and denying it. Thankfully the lad walked back to his girlfriend and they went inside the chip shop where the assistants were helping them. It could have turned nasty. How bad is it it feels unsafe to be in Ecclesfield at half 8 at night. Hopefully the continued police presence and the awful incident last weekend will make the place safer. RIP Dale.
  3. My daughter went to a party at sheffield united football training ground. think it was somewhere near shirecliffe. she was 6 and she loved it. They get a football pitch, trainer if available then there are party rooms upstairs.
  4. I got mine from betterware or Kleenezee, the brochures through the door. Have you a local representitive? Might be worth a try if your not desperate and can wait a week or so. Or they might have an online facility.
  5. Hi my dad has had his car stolen from lindsay ave Parson Cross in the early hours of this morning. Its a blue micra. M reg. Guessin some little blighters took it for a joy ride and have dumped it somewhere or burnt it out. It might be old and clapped out but its my dads only way of getting to work. If anyone has any info can they please reply to the thread or pm me. Thanks.
  6. Yes its definitely monday. I phoned then on Friday to double check and also have a friend who works there. So NOT tues but Monday. Thank goodness!!
  7. three grand is split between 3 families so yes a grand each is a tight budget. For 6 people all inclusive i have been struggling to find somewhere. Thanks for suggestions so far.
  8. hi we are looking at holidays for next summer, has to be in school holiday so end of July/all of Aug and we are on an extremely tight budhet. Wondered if anyone knows of any holiday companies we could try. There will be 4 adults and 2 children and preferably we want all inclusive. Looking for a total of less than 3 grand for flights/hotel etc. Its pushing it i know but if anyone has any advice please reply. PS we don't mind where we go as long as its hot
  9. Depending on how many people are going it might work out cheaper to get a season ticket-allowing you unlimited entry for the year for 2 adults and up to 3 children i think, can't remember exactly. It costs about £25. Well worth it as we have been many times and children never get bored.
  10. I know when i was breast feeding my midwife had ones to loan, not sure if that is still available but might be worth trying. That way i got to try 3/4 different ones before i found one i was comfortable with. If not you may have a local breastfeeding group that could offer them/advice. Good luck.
  11. I am a teacher and maybe i shouldnt say this but as a single parent myself i too, if possible would take my daughter out if i could- althought as a teacher i can't, however i do have a salary that reflects this and i do have 13 weeks off a year so i don't think i can hardly complain. It is ridiculous that holiday companies chage way over the odds for school holidays resulting in many families having no choice but to take their holidays during term time. i really can't see the problem as long as its not a gcse, SATs assessment time etc. Of course i do provide my children with a bit of homework to do whilst they are away eg a fact file of where they have been etc and think the holiday offers them a valuable experience. Schools tend to avoid the last week as this is when children visit their new class teacher, and other children in the class if they have been mixed. This is to aid the transition process and help children feel settled. Not essential no- but very valuable. As long as you keep attendence up above the expected level and inform the school i am sure you will be ok.
  12. Have you thought of contacting the star? my daughter had her rabbit stolen a couple of years ago and after they ran a story we got her back after someone handed her in to police. Unbelieveably tho after we moved house we had her stolen AGAIN!! this time we didn't get her back unfortunately. It might be worth a try. I know its awful, my daughter was devastated. evil g**s. They even smashed the hutch to bits too. Fingers crossed they find it.
  13. Does the school not do an after school club? might be a cheaper option with less hassle. may also mean they still get to play with some of their friends too.
  14. i think the best thing would be to offer your services voluntary. mainstream schools are crying out for children to help in the SEN department. As long as you have an up to date CRB check i would personally visit/ring/write to a local primary offering your services. It would also be good to offer references. This is the best way to get your foot in the door and then u can apply for paid jobs within the school. Thats how i started. Also Sheffield City council advertise vacancies foe level 2 teaching assistants so that might be worth a luck. If you are interested in a primary school pm me- i might be able to help.
  15. i used a company online called mobile2cash. give u an instant value, send you an envolope, you send it back trackable delivery and then they deposit the money in your account about 5 days later. i got a fair price for mine. alternatively boots are offering points at the momoent for old phones although not sure of the amount.
