  1. Not sure if, as an amateur photographer, I'm right but this doesn't seem too bad a deal. For instance - take a trip to Scarborough, take 50 saleable shots, if he pays £3 per shot that's £150. I don't think that's too bad a days work. Better still, take 2 shots of each scene and you'll retain the copyright of one As I say I don't make a living from my photography, and don't sell my work, so maybe I'm missing something here?
  2. Me and the missis saw a Goshawk last week, devouring a bird outside our house (Bamford).
  3. Here's a shot of The Museum Hotel that I took around 1979, was a great pub http://www.flickr.com/photos/28723088@N05/2911655475/in/set-72157607732289761/
  4. Nice vid Bus Man. I would have gone up myself if I had known it was going to be 2x66s. I thought it was just going to be one of the departmental stock locos.
  5. Here it is going through Bamford (3 pics. 1 sepia toned) http://www.flickr.com/photos/28723088@N05/4021642055/
  6. Quite easy - we followed the path from opposite Surprise View car park, down into Grindleford, its in the wooded area, across the path, just before the path down to the station
  7. There's also one near Grindleford (Padley Gorge), we took the kids down a couple of months ago
  8. Quite looking forward to the voting, I'm so confident I reckon I'll manage at least second place! .....aaanyway, sarcasm aside, I take it the competition has been abandoned again?
  9. The butterfly is a Painted Lady (Vanessa cardui) - usually not too common around here (it's migratory) but there has been many more than usual this year (a billion expected!) Nice shots btw - usually quite difficult to capture, seems to fly much faster and be more nervous than other species
  10. Try these: There are about 20 lessons, easy to understand, but really funny too. I've used Photoshop since about 1997 (version 3) but I still learned lots from these
  11. I'm ok with Expression. I don't think the competitions are linked to the month, 'cept maybe February's, so I couldn't see a problem moving them forward a month. That said, I also like the idea of running two comps
  12. It was indeed the Dakota - flies over quite regularly (Bamford)
  13. Me and the missus heard it, we were both awake with the window open (Bamford). It was loud and prolonged for a thunderclap but we reckoned that's what it was. It was very foggy but I think that is what resulted in the unusual 'thick' sound.
  14. Where did you see this Marypoppins? I've been out taking moths and butterflys today but never managed to see one of these.....
  15. Well there's less than a week to go now - guess the competition has finally bit the dust
  16. Congrats papillon, great pic and a worthy winner
