  1. If you're still stuck although I have no out of school hours time free at the moment, if your son / daughter is on study leave and looking for help during the daytime I may be able to help. I run a music business in South Sheffield http://www.bannerdalemusic.com Rachel
  2. Hong Kong Garden, top of Ecclesall Road at Banner Cross. They'll make anything you like, even if it's not technically on the menu. Loads of veg in all their dishes (which we like), or takeout from the Noodle Inn, but it is expensive, you might as well eat in.
  3. The place on Little London Road. Little London Bodyworks it's called. Did a good job on our Zafira recently
  4. I would say the same - pitch it or at least get something that isn't standard flat roofing. We had a highly recommended "reputable" company into to do ours - 8 X 16ft... it's never stopped leaking since! After a lot of arguing with the original firm, we've decided to get it redone with our main roof! Will be a huge relief.
  5. The only place that stocks flutes is BlueNotes on Fulwood Road.
  6. The Waldershelf singers are joining with Stannington Choir for a performance of Karl Jenkin's - The Armed Man, a mass for peace. The performance will be on April 9th in Victoria Hall. We're inviting anyone who would like to take part to apply to join us for a term, to rehearse and to perform with us. Great opportunity! Rehearsals will start on Jan 12th and continue on Tuesday's through to the performance, in the Venue at Stocksbridge. Further info on our website http://www.waldershelfsingers.org
  7. Anyone who would like to try out singing in a friendly community choir is invited on Tuesday 6th October to visit the Waldershelf Singers. Lots of info here on our website, but it's open to all, free and no strings attached. If you like us you're welcome to join, all info available on the night. http://www.waldershelfsingers.org/join-us-this-year-2015/ ????
  8. Ever fancied trying out singing with a friendly community choir? The Waldershelf Singers are having an open rehearsal with drinks and nibbles, next Tuesday (21st July) 7.30-9.30 at the Venue in Stocksbridge. Everyone welcome, experienced singers or newbies! No auditions - we sing for fun! Full info on the website here https://waldershelf.wordpress.com No cost, no expectations! Come and try it out!
  9. My children (aged ten & eight) do walk to that school - & that's the problem, they're junior aged children & without a suitable crossing patrol or pelican crossing drivers are incredibly fast and drive up and down without even realising there's a zebra crossing there. The week before Christmas a lad was pulled out of the way by another parent as a driver overtook one who had stopped - and accelerated across the zebra. I've had to stop my children walking as they can't cross safely without an adult at the moment, and I suspect I'm not the only parent to do similar. I would personally prefer a pelican as it forces drivers to stop and means the kids are crossing more safely if for example they are at an after school club. Please do sign the petition, it'll at least bring the issue into discussion with the council, and a resolution may be found!
  10. For budget: On the Spot Tyre ( off Abbeydale Rd) Or Top Tread (St Mary's) For service: Hawleys (have excellent mobile fitting service)
  11. There's a craft shop at Hunter's Bar roundabout - we bought a starter kit from there last week, about £8 I think - although not an original rainbow loom it does the job. Hth

  13. Not entirely local, but we commute from Ecclesall, lovely drive across the villages. Wonderful group of singers called the 'Waldershelf' They sing for fun, charity and plenty of socials. Good mix of music. http://waldershelf.wordpress.com/about/ You'd be very welcome :-)
  14. The Graze Inn are kid friendly, as are any of the chains - Pizza Express, Prezzo etc... all provide colouring stuff and high chairs
  15. Be careful about doing any work before YW agree. We fought for 6 months this year and they refused to reconnect us even with a new plastic pipe laid by our builders. They wanted to charge £3000 even though the pictures on their website showed that they would do it for free.
