I lived on parkhill for the first 10 years of my life we lived on norwich just above the park. i loved it, there was a real sense of community in them days. The lifts always used to stink of urine though:gag:

This is probably a long shot, but does anyone know where i can get hold of a copy of the World Student Games opening ceremony 1991 at don valley stadium, as i was in it, like thousands of other sheffield schoolkids at that time and i would love to see it again,does anyone remember doing it????

My mum and grandparents lived on the park district then moved back onto the parkhill flats when they were built, we moved off the flats about twenty years ago

Just thinking earlier, ive now been driving for ten years And i was wondering what other peoples driving lessons and instructors were like. I had my test at Handsworth,my insructor was ok but a bit strict

Thats true, I dont llive in sheff anymore but when i come to visit, something has been either knocked down or changed

I used to love going to the sheaf and castle markets with mi mum when i was a kid. Its a real shame

yeah i did go to park hill school,you are a little older than me but you might know my family i.e sister, brother ,cousins theyre all older than me. I will pm you their names

We used to play british bulldog on the grass opposite the park, just up from the maze above the garages, I lived on norwich just above the park. Fond memories

The head teacher was Mr. Sharpe in the Middle school, and I remember Mr. Woodhead, Mr. Vause, Mrs Anderson, Mrs Thomas, Mr. Raynor, Mr Lyon, the big fish tank as you walked in, and underneath that was the merit box that you used to put the little merits in the same colour as your house team!!!! In the first school I can remember Mrs. Wiggly and Mrs. Aslam.

I went to Park Youth Centre and I can remember going absieling and rock climbing, but cant remember where!! And we went canoeing at Rother Valley.

I drove past what used to be Parkhill school on Duke street the other day and couldnt believe it had been knocked down. I had a lot of happy memories at that school (around 20 years ago) !! Are there any other ex pupils or teachers on the forum? It would be great to hear from you:thumbsup:

Is this the Mr. Lydiat that was headmaster at Parkhill Middle school in the late eighties??

I lived on Norwich opposite the park,i forgot about the sinks,when we moved off flats it was wierd having a bin :?

South Street,Park. So called, as before the Parkhill flats were built, the area was called 'The Park District'. Some of the road names on the park district are the names of the landings on the Parkhill flats i.e Norwich row, Long henry row etc. etc.

I know............30 this year Is it all downhill from there??

Do you remember the school trips to kelham island? It was great the first time you went but then year after year it got a bit boring, you just knew what was gonna happen and what you were gonna see........Them big engines, woooohoooo

Get A Taxi

we've had sky for about seven years and up to about a year ago it was fine. Then, when we plugged the telly in, in the morning sky wouldnt come on, we had to switch telly on and off at the socket to get it back on. then when it did come on the channels froze or we couldnt get some channels on.They came out (for 60 quid), put a new (reconditioned) box in and now thats started doing the same, so theyre gonna get another phonecall tomorrow. Ooooh i feel better getting that off mi chest
