Let's talk about pieces of equipment. No, I don't mean Eddie's crotch! I mean racquets and stuff that we use to play this wonderful game. I use a special kind of racquet which combines the 'grip' of a handle with the 'bounciness' of the stringed bit at the end. It's very high-tech. My particular model has a thin shaft which joins these two NASA designed peices of aparatus. This reduces the likihood of the stringed bit flying away mid-smash. I use plastic shuttles, because I am allergic Goose feathers, which as any good pub-quiz teams knows, is what the feathers of real shuttlecocks are made out of.

I too would like to bring a german friend, however I don't have one. Does anyone know where I could get one before the funday?

Its my birthday on the 3rd June!! I'll probably won't be doing anything else on the day though (i'm working too, boo!hiss!) so sign me up as usual. However, I feel its only right that £2.60 from the SFBC Treasury goes towards a birthday pint for me afterwards.

Be warned - if its for the purposes of ID most employees etc will only take a standard sized certificate with the name of at least one parent on it, not a short one.

Saw them in Newcastle Academy on Monday night - I don't care much for a fair few of their songs (it was my sisters birthday) but they finished well with probably their three best songs, and another treat which I won't mention so I don't spoil it

Go to the local council website of the town you were born in. Its quicker if you're under about 22ish, but in any case they don't seem to take more than a couple of weeks (I have to get people to request these in my line of work, HR!). Of course, if your home town is a small village somewhere in Nepal it might take longer.

I think the foundations laid were strong enough to take on +40 storeys - the 36 storey plan has been around since long before construction started.

Please provide me with this documentation. I once lived near a helipad, for the record. If indeed they do make unacceptable levels of noise then of course you are right and they should not be placed near residential areas, but a I understand it this is by a supermarket?

Good to hear it, its been scientifically proven by scientist blokes that people with negative criticism are more vocal than those with positive feedback - so its nice to see people posting to say everything went well for them. Its not perfect but I think the vast majority get an average-excellent service.
