  1. hi guys, thanks for your replies. studying, gaining qualifications is a good idea, however I have a degree I graduated 6 years ago. which makes my position even more frustrating. ive never been completely sure what i'd like to do and i don't have much confidence which doesn't help either. i recently decided that i'd like to work in a school which is why i volunteered. i am starting to apply for jobs so will see how i get on.
  2. Hi, I'm not sure how easy it is to get a job in Sheffield that isn't working in a call centre. I've been doing this type of work for 8 years and, frankly, I've never really liked it. I've been trying for a while to get a job doing something different, such as admin, just a general office job would be nice but because of my experience it is difficult. Even recruitment agencies, I tell them I want admin work and they only seem to want to put me forward for call centre jobs. I certainly don't want to be doing this for the next 30 years or so. I recently decided I would quite like to work in a school, so I did a bit of volunteering in a school, helping out in the classroom and the office, to gain some experience. I was hoping this might improve my chances of getting an interview when applying for school jobs, however I have been told it is VERY hard to get a job in a school. I will apply for jobs in schools however at the min just after a bit of advice, support, confidence boosting.. cheers x
  3. They sometimes advertise in the job centre. The major nightclubs have their own website, have u tried those? Or u cud just send your cv to a few bars.
  4. Lol that always happens, u c sumat being built and ur like "ooh i wonder wot thats gona be", then as soon as the sign goes up they've already taken on staff
  5. Has anyone applied 2 work there? Ive looked on cookes website but cant find anything about job vacancies
  6. Are there any companies in sheffield that do this that you could send your cv to? If not maybe you should consider trying outside sheffield?
  7. Have u considered an apprenticeship? Ur still young so wud have a good chance of getting 1 and it gives u all the training u need for your chosen job
  8. no thats not the 1 i was after but thanx anyway. ive tried youtube and cn't find the right version x
  9. hi, bit random but wanted a bit of help finding a song. anyone remember about 5 or 6 yr ago in nightclubs they were playing a sweet home alabama remix it sings the song then goes "don't stop pretty pretty" been looking for it but cant find it anywhere :-/ cheers!!
  10. Hi, i know this is an old thread but... Did u find a job as a teaching assistant in the end? If so how did u go about it? I left uni 5 yrs ago and have decided i would like to go into teaching, but i would like a paid job as a TA first to gain experience. I too have no qualification and my degree was an unlrelated subject. Ive started applying for TA jobs and got in touch with 1 education recruitment agency who said i need a minimum of 3 months recent experience either paid or voluntary. LUCKILY the hours i work mean i have time during the week to volunteer so this is something i will be looking into, i know not everyone is able to do this. I would love 2 know how u got on! X
  11. ok, the 2nd point i did not actually know about that... and maybe that was the earlier bus? i dont decide to catch a bus at the last minute, and the 1st 1 not all drivers do that there are drivers that have the courtesy to wait a couple of seconds for a "straddler" as u put it.
  12. thanx for this hollylolly, ive sent them an email so will see what their response is!!
  13. obviously didnt read the thread properly otherwise u will see that i have paid.
  14. i can't be doing with the stress of going to court :-( i have been paying at pay points with the bar code thats on the bill, however i do have receipts to prove i have paid so i think i might just take them into the office. sue180 i do hope u manage to get your dad's payments sorted soon x
