i went on the don had my best session ever so far:) did a few streches had 17 fish just trotting worm on float 6 grayling rest trout. my hands still warming up :cool::cool:

im a little confused right, i now understand that you always should have a licence so when it runs out on 31st i need to buy a new one the day after even though the river season is closed incase i fish still waters that still require a licence like the canal ect?? now some one told me today on the don that if you fish on the fly rod that you can fish rivers in may on a game licence for trout.. well i didnt know they existed can anyone let me know what the real rules are and im trying to get into fly fishing,,lol and would i or will i ever need another licence if they exist plz help?

Been down to the rother today for first time in years and what a waste of a great day should have gone on don its a right sess pit all way up from woodhouse to rother vally.. stinks of sh t all way up wont be going again... dont understand why people would wast there time on here.. get on don! for last few week

Thanks man.. i read on here stevenson rd other week tried to get from the bridge down 5 weirs walk but the gate was locked. as i was only passing i didnt drive down stevenson rd to see how you access that strech, so how would i get on there and where would be a good place to leave the car??? thanks for any help

Got my first ever chub out of the don very happy gave a good fight and was in great condition. caught use piece of meat on size 14 hook link with pellets on open end feeder. Hoping to catch more of these. i think weighed just over 2 lb what do you think??

if i was you jon id probably try n find out what the better of the stuff is worth so you dont lose out on anything expensive.. and maybe a fishing school or something maybe a good idea for some of the older bits that they may really appreciate.. try to find someone with the knowledge to tell you what you have..

Has anyone watched this and what do you think.. i watched first episode where they caught the tench .. wasnt keen when he took the rod of that young lad n lost the fish, then in second ep the your lad told him to calm down because he was making the lad nervous. and last night i thought he took mick abit when that young lad had monster carp on surely he could have netted them fish much quicker the fish was only aft in front of him and he was just stood there with net in hand saying lift rod up.. puddin .

i got into fishing last year and now looking forward to catching some nice fish this year.. so i decided to give myself some realistic targets for the year, as just really got into fishing i dont really have any pbs so this year i set out to firstly catch as many different species of fish i can,, then il start on pbs hopefully.. so far this year ive had a small perch couple small roach a gudgin few good brown trout a 4lb 4oz koi and 1lb 4 oz grayling.. only time been water licked was when i tried for a pike with no experience on canal dint get one . i really want a nice tench this year now hoping to get one when warms up abit. WHAT ARE YOUR TARGETS FOR THIS YEAR AND PB,S

yes mate i really do.. ive got the bug for the don at the min.. i just want to fish all the time.. once i get abit more confidence i will be part of the charity events at the mo im still very much learning..

not to sure what its called mate cus im new to the river don but i parked car near the old pub.. fair.. something and walked up past the old mill back of hillsbourgh main road .. caught the grayling just down from a power plant place.. and few good brownies from the old mill.

I had my first grayling out of the don today about apound n a quater... was really happy to catch this fish, really is the "lady of the river" gave a great fight the only one i had plus 4 good brownies in about 2 hour stroll.:D:D:D:D:D
