After waiting over a month, i finally recieved a letter and a cheque from my previous landlord (its a company not an individual). However, they have taken £85 for cleaning the kitchen even though me and my housemate went around the whole property scrubbing it, even to the point of being on hands an knees cleaning the kitchen!
In the accompanying letter it states that if i dispute this i can return the cheque along with a letter outlining my points. After waiting for over a month, I'm now expected to give him the cheque back, try and convince him to give me the full bond and then wait how long until the next/replacement cheque arrives?!?!
We were good tennants who didnt complain about anything, when our shower broke we contacted him, they replaced it with an electric one and then left it un plumbed for a month until we moved out.
The only other conversation i had with him during our tennancy was that for a couple of nights we made a bit of noise and the neighbours complaned (its flats) i was very appologetic and said we didnt realise and it wouldnt happen again, his attitude was just rude and sharp.
Anyway if anyone has any advice of how to deal with this to get the bond back, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
