i remember jimmy he used to knock about with my younger bothers call them Ramsden of Flaxby road

I used to live off shirland lane at the corner of Flaxby road and thornville road,next to us was bilton road ,wilstrop road , bridport rd and whixley road. used to be a shop on nearly every corner one that led of wilstrop road though to Bridport called double entry .they was a big family of us and it was just a two up &two down with the outside lav .But they was the best days , no fear summer holidays when we was kids was playing on the tip across from the fire station ,there was pubs on the bottom the Albert Sportsman and the ball inn the Ball now os out of use but the other two are still there

my prarents was born on the cliffe Dad on Bowing St just of Rippon st and Mam on Bradford St near carbrook ,Steadfast St was,nt far from there i can remember Mam talking about Steadfast St but the name Pope doesnt come to mind ,If mom was alive or dad they would have love to have heard all these things that are being wrote about on here .I great to hear that the Cliffe still lives on

hi was u born in the Attercliffe area if so my dad was and Mam dad used to live on Bowing st of rippon road and mam lived on bradford st my dads brother played football for Liverpool back in days before the war and just after then moved on to play for sunderland my Dads name was Albert Ramsden and his brother was Bernard

the name of the pictures on Stainforth road was the Balfour at the bottom of Balfour road

I was born in Darnall and lived on cottingham st after getting married 1971 to a lad that was born on Cottingham st Gordon Davison we spilt in 1997 but we had some good years on the cliffe .
