  1. Hi yah, just wanting a recommend local dwarf fruit tree provider, you see so many providers online and was hoping for some recommendations . .. ..
  2. Hi, i am new to gardeing, only been doing it for the last 6 months. I have grown beans, tomatoes and lots of other vegies but now I am looking to flowers and greenery to perfect the garden area, where the kids play. I have an ugly wall that needs covering and I was wondering what creeper/climbers plants look good all year. I'd like something that flowers and adds color to the garden but I'd also like it to look good during th rest of the year. I'd also prefer it to be a permanent feature and not something that needs too much maintenance. With 3 kids and the vegie plot, there's not that much more of me to spare , anyone got any ideas??
  3. My son goes to lound infant school and they will be closed for the morning on thursday. I sort of understand why they are striking but I don't understand why the schools dont have a back up plan. I have spoken to a few parents and the ones that are self employed will have to take time off to care for their kids, the ones that aren't will have to take time off their annual leave. I live and work in a pub ( a dying trade as it is) but dropping my son off at 1pm is a nightmare. It would be easier if he took the day off but I was told if he did it would fall under an authorized absents, so what does him not attending his morning classes fall under. When it snowed they said you can bring your child to school at your own risk ( even though we might not have enough staff or we may send them all home after lunch) I decided not to as I knew what the roads where like - It was recorded as an absent day. The school has enough time to arrange something else so why couldn't they!! I don't really understand the whole system. I understand that the teachers are striking to improve their situations - fair enough !! But why are the schools not doing anything about it? The ones that suffer are the children (maybe not! a day off school ) but what about the parents who are already in a difficult situation. Times are hard as it is!!

  13. Thanks to everyone for your response. It should be middle September, on a thursday night. Make sure you have pm me your details. We will have a PA system and it doesn't matter if you don't sing, you could just play or collaborate with a singer on here or on the night. Its a very friendly atmosphere and I am sure you will meet like-minded music-enthusiasts like yourselves. We will put up a sign up sheet on the night, so you know when you're up. We are hoping this to be a regular thing eventually, so we hope you do show up and enjoy yourself. It is an open night mic night, for every and anyone who wishes to perform, be it singing, dancing, even poetry reading if that's what you're into. My husband or I might join in. I know a few of the regulars are definetly interested. If anyone needs a keyboard player to accompany them let us know. Cheers
