Does it matter whether we like snow or not? It is not like we can stop it from snowing is it? The fact that some people make the most of it and get excited really should not offend the people who find it a massive inconvenience. It is life and when it does snow we should all rally together.

Your council tax also covers the emergency services such as fire brigade and police, I would have thought an empty house would be a higher risk than a house with a single person living in it, dependant on area, working hours etc but this could have something to do with it. Ok so you would not want your bin emptying but if your house were to be set on fire I am guessing you would want that to be investigated?

Unfortunately the last landlord of the Three Merry Lads had left the pub in rather a mess and I beleive that the new landlord / lady ( I have not met them yet) have had quite a lot to do befreinding the brewery's again and sorting out credit etc. I really hope that they make a go of it and I think that rather than slating it now, how about it is reveiwed in say 6 months time? Agreed that pub may struggle through the winter months especially as people are not exactly recommending others go there, but once the good old british summer arrives then may be as families are going up there and the youngsters are out enjoying a pint the new occupiers will have had chance to up their game and prove to people that once again the Three merry lads is the place to be. Please give them a chance before we put everyone off going up there.

If you really are stuck then fill up your sink with bleach water you could always add a bit of food colouring if you wanted and then soak all your papers in the water until they turn to mush, then you can dispose of them in the bin. A bit messy but would do the trick.

I just wondered if anyone else has had problems with the delivery of anything ordered from Extreme Fliers Toys? I bought a groupon Voucher back in November (aimed at the Sheffield Region) and then went on the extreme fliers website to claim my gift. I paid an additional £6 (for delivery and batteries) and sat back waiting for my gift to arrive. I received an email confirmation to say that my order had been confirmed and the money was taken out of my account. I have still not received my order and despite countless emails to extreme fliers apart from the automated response saying they are busy I have not had anything else back from them. There is no phone number of company registration number on the website, I cannot find them registered on Companies House Website. I have wrote them a letter and have commented on their facebook page, but I just wondered if anyone else has had any dealings with them? I know there has been some critisism about Groupon recently, but it is more extreme fliers I have the problem with.

I would bave thought this would come under the safeguarding children headline, which I believe is any harmful behaviour towards a vulnerable adult or in this case a child. I would have thought that under such circumstances it would be the job of social services to be made aware and thus help to deal with, as acts such as these could have a long term effect on a child. It is also my understanding that once social services are aware of the situation they then have a legal obligation to act on it.

I will also echo the statement about being careful pointing out the places badgers live. They are still poached for their skin and also for 'fun' by mindless criminals. Please think about this when posting.

I just want to echo the views of others regarding the 101 service, I have used it on a number of occassions and have always found the staff to be helpful. The more people phone the more will get done! Let us not let this behaviour become the norm.

Does anyone know what has happend to the Ducks that used to walk around Dore Village as though they owned the place? I know I am asking for many varied joking comments on here, some of which may even be funny, but on a serious note, my nephews who are aged 6 and 8 are asking where the ducks are. It must be over a year since we last saw them. If anyone can shed any light on this it would be much appreciated.
