  1. Hi, we would be happy to come and give you a free quote. But as dan2802 the job needs a engineer to come round, do the calcs and send them into building control. We can also do this for you. regards.
  2. If it's a modern apartment block you will probably have concrete floors, so the person above you will also have concrete floors, your ceiling being a false ceiling. But really it all depends on the building and no one can say for definite without looking/inspecting. Have you asked any neighbours if they have have tried to fix to the floor or ceiling?. Or is there a building maintence company?. We would be happy to take a look my numbers below hope this helps
  3. I'm looking for a roofer to work on a subcontract basis for me. If your interested drop me a line or if you can recommend anyone I appreciate it. Thanks
  4. Is there any bars/restaurants still open at the quayside? Thanks
  5. Who ever you choose make sure they look at the job first. The boiler needs to suit the property. Is it replacing a combi? or older system? If so where is it going? How much pipe work needs to be altered?. etc etc cheers
  6. Is it a condensing boiler with an exterior over flow? If so its probably just frozen. Disconnect the over flow, probably 1 1/4 pipe and pour boiling water down the waste and into the pipe that comes from the house. A funnel might be handy. You'll see if its frozen when you remove the over flow. Pour the hot water over any ice and reset the boiler. Hope this helps, cheers
  7. try 01142375205, he's a top guy and has helped us in the past. cheers.
  8. I bought a repossesion last year, here's what I found. Pro's. you can get the property cheaper. Cons. You agree the price, but it will be advertised as still for sale right up until you've exchanged. Mine was advertised in the property paper 3 times after the sale was agreed as well as the internet and estate agents. So a high risk of getting out bid. You have to produce your proof of funds before the offer is appcepted then agree to exchange on the date they said. I was told 10 working days. (However due to the fact they hadn't prepared there paper work it took over 10 weeks). You struggle to arrange the survey's in this time with how fast solicitors and councils move. But then again why have a building survey when you've agreed a price and are told they wont alter said price what ever you find. Also once you've agreed the price you cant back out(Im told this I don't believe it, what I will get arrested for not completing when I didn't want too?) So if you agree a price, have a land search and the last day are out bid you still get the solictors bill, that sucks. Speak to your solictor first, I've used the same one for a number of deals and he was more then happy to wave his fee If I did miss out, knowing he would get more buisness off fo me at a later date. Overall I find it no more difficult as other property purchases I have done. cheers, hope it goes well.
