  1. hi candice this is a lovely group to walk with, who enjoy walking but also the social side is very good as well, so if you are unable to walk you can catch up with everyone with one of the socials.
  2. Just thought i would let you all know the sheffield shamblers are now running short walks during the week as well as longer walks on a weekend. Here is the link for their forum site.x http://shamblers.forumotion.co.uk/
  3. I am looking to set up a section in an already established group for walking for those with disabilities. Just wondering what kind of interest it would generate. Walks would be start on good surfaces for example parks and canals on accessable using public transport.
  4. aries you are the second person this week that i have mentioned these symtoms to and have said fibromyalgia to me.
  5. i suffer with depression to the point where i nearly lost my job last year. A year later and finding a balance with my medication i am getting there. However i am paying a price of muscle and joints in pain and seizing up. I know i cannot get any DLA as i have looked into it, but i have a job who a great. Yes i think in some cases depression is a disability, but it is treatable and manageble with the right support and medication for people to lead a normal life. The same as some people who have a physical disability with the right support and medication you dont need to be on benefits. I know people may not agree with me.x
  6. its difficult to find work at such a young age due to health and saftey regulations and things. I use to manage catering part of a sports club to help wait on tables glass collect etc but you can only work a few hours a week. I do understand not wanting a paper round i would not want any child of mine out in the early dark nights and early mornings. Try some of the small cafes for sat work such as those in parks which are run independantly.
  7. yep its a new group which has been set up by scoobz who use to run the sheffield shamblers.x
  8. i think you answered your own question her head would not have been in any fit state to think logically. Sometimes when people are tramertised then you are not rational or logical, you just want to be where you would feel safe. As for running off instead telling a taxi driver about her rape, a the taxi driver is highly likely to be male.
  9. i have been in a few times now. Prices are spot on, even though i love the fact you have to rumage in the shop to find a book it could do with sorting out into sections but then a shop that size its not always possible. I think we should treasure this little shop, do you have a twitter page or facebook page? you could advertise the shop on both and what latest titles you have etc.
  10. went in the other day but not for food, i thought i was quite nice think its trying to have a bit of a minimal thing going on with the decor, nice in summer like may feel cold in the winter. I think the pub is putting its self on the real ale trail, emphsis on real ale with cheap simple food. I though the selection of ales fab, service great barman was knowledgable.x
  11. hope the lady is ok, my thoughts are with this lady i hope that the person who did this to her is caught quickly. I get off that tram stop late in the evening due to shift work, made me very wary.

  21. asbo's do nothing apart from a label which some think its a badge and wear it pride. I think community service for youngesters is only good, they can start working within their community and see what distruction they have caused, even 10 and 11 years should see what they have done to people they should face the people who have lost their homes and buisness and listen to how people are feeling. Though people should not allowed to get away with what they have done, and the courts system is doing all it can under the present system. Though i do think there should be a process is in place for the future for large scale rioting of this kind, in accordance to age and crime. I do think the government should look at how kides are being brought up maybe the government could stop making cuts to community budgets.
  22. this happend to someone i support with mental health issues she paid them the money, we reported this to action freud
  23. a simular incedent happend to my friend, the person being attacked by youths in a car had got out and ran, she pulled out the car park (where she was) and pulled in round the corner and phoned 999 and gave the police a reg number, these guys were caught and charged, the very same day. You dont have to play the hero and jump in its not that you have to leave the security of your car in this day and age with mobile phones, cannot believe people just walk away from such incedents.
  24. maybe rather than done nothing at the time you could have pulled in phoned 999 when the incedent was happening, you would not have had to get out of your car. You basically have walked away from and incedent and now you feel guilty. still phone the police as they may have reported it and you may be a witness, better than doing nothing at all apart from ponder on here.
