However, if the op wants a hedge as a living screen, it's helping the wildlife too. It would depend on how long you want it. You ideally need to stagger the planting so it produces a good dense hedge, so double the amount you think. I would go for a company online as it would likely be cheaper in bulk. To be honest, depending on exactly what you're after I would go for a hedge that has more interest than a privet, something like a dogrose then you would get flowers and hips too, but it's your choice of course.

Did we just have an earth tremor ??

Might it have been snow sliding off your roof? That has a low rumble that's similarly associated with tremors. -

I had a feeling we might get some thunder this evening. First time I've experienced thundersnow and first time I've heard of it. Interesting. -

Forge Valley was due to open at 10, but now they've decided "Due to the worsening weather conditions, the Headteacher has made the decision to close the school today." -
I think it's a great idea to pass on the skills through the generations. It won't be long before some are lost forever because it just doesn't happen these days. We're increasing the throw away rather than fix it mentality

That is where I first spotted it. The only place I saw it for sale was ebay USA and my hubby isn't keen on my purchasing it that way. Can you also see if lovely as a tree is still available please? -

Hi Alcoblog - I would be interested to know about the heat emitted and the energy saving options. In layman's terms please lol.

Christmas cards. Some are cross stitched but I'm having an attempt at stamping and decoupage. You'll have to post some pics of your finished projects

Wow you sure have a craft head! I'm having a dabble with card making, but I mostly cross stitch.

I have been following this thread for the last couple of days as I am interested, but not particularly politically minded so I apologise if I've misunderstood anything. I have a couple of questions. Who is paying for the referendum in Scotland and if it goes wrong with a yes result will we be expecting a wave of people moving down here freely because they have a British passport?

Hobbycraft although I have picked other sizes up from wilko

I personally bought a father/son lamp for £11 at Ikea and bought daylight bulbs. If you buy the energy saving bulbs they don't get as warm so it's more comfortable to work under. I generally get enough light to embroider by just using the uplighter part...it's also far cheaper than the "daylight lamps" you can buy and just as economical to run.
