Cheers for that,
yucca is a root, long with brown rough skin and a tough white inner.
Also called cassava more commonly here I think and manioc or manioca

Hi there!
Â
I'm trying to recreate some South American cooking.
Â
Does anyone know any supermarkets/speciality markets where I can find plantains and yucca in Sheffield? maybe a caribbean minimarket?
Â
Thanks!

Anyone know of any karaoke bars in Sheffield or a bar which has karaoke on Thursday or Friday night.
Â
Cheers

What's the best Indian on or very near to London Road. A few friends are coming down to watch United play Newcastle and we want a decent place.

Hi,
Â
I am looking for temporary work in childcare, specifically working as a support worker in residential units in and around the Sheffield area.
Â
Does anyone know which agencies in town deal with this line of work?
Â
Cheers

Hi
Â
I didn't get a ticket in time to go the Tuesday Club 10th Birthday Party at Sheffield Uni the other night.
Â
They weren't gonna anounce the line-up until the night, so I am very curious as to who played. Anyone go? Anyone remember?

i just bought one!

What's the point in this thread?
-
Yes no problem.
Â
As long as it's not gay (and you're hetero), bestial or paedo.
It is an invaluable learning experience, best shared.

I don't know, you can buy maize flour, I can't see how you would make flour out of sweetcorn ?Maize is not yellow either, I think it's brown.
Â
You can also buy corn flour,
In spanish sweetcorn is maiz
so that's why i thought they were the same

The only film I have chosen not to watch again is Irreversible.
Â
This is a French film which features very disturbing rape and violence. It is an excellent film, very well made, but the scenes are far too shocking to merit another viewing.
Not for the faint-hearted.

I went and I absolutely loved it.
I was pretty central about half way between stage and sound desk, I thought I could hear the lyrics pretty well.
Â
I love how they rework songs for the live shows as well.
Who was the blonde girl? She's got a pretty set of lungs on her, does she feature on the new album, haven't really listened to it that much.

Wow that is amazing!
Credit where credit's due.

I think corn is maize, and sweetcorn is erm......sweetcorn ?Â
Corn and maize are the same thing aren't they?
-
As far as I am aware no.
We tend to use sweetcorn more in the UK.
Especially if it refers to the processed frozen or tinned variety.
Corn on the cob we call corn on the cob, not sweetcorn on the cob.
-
I thought it was pretty good, took the kids and they loved it.
I even had a chuckle or two and I wouldn't normally go for something like this.
-
the tram's always packed, i normally walk down to attercliffe and get the 52, only a quid or so!
-
Looking forward to it
Apparently Calvin 'Acceptable in the 80s' is upporting as well so should be a laugh.
Seen Faithless four times now, each time they get better.
I can imagine this is gonna be mega!
-
Only if i love them and/or I want to get into bed with them...
Not to male friends, it's abit too gay.
To strangers/acquaintances/work colleagues definitely not.
-
no it wasn't this one but I might look at this one. It's about a bloke who acts as a kind of mole in eta.Â
Oh I heard of that but never saw it, sounds interesting though. I wonder if it's available on general release. I'm into all things Spanish.
Â
Another great film set in the Basque region is La Ardilla Roja or The Red Squirrel, another great Julio Medem film.

I have had a great night tonight, way above what I was expecting.
the band that came on after the power cut called Bison were awesome. Had everyone dancing to a bit of Ska/Reggae with a Sheffield accent!
Well done to the organisers of this event, it has been fantastic. Things like this are a great way to bring the community together, and I have to say despite the stick Sharrow gets from many of my associates, events like this and the summer Sharrow music festival show what a great community of people live in this area.
Thank you for a great night!!!

Komal, it's a shame you didn't stick around, the band that came on after, about 20-30 minutes later, called Bison were awesome. Had everyone dancing to a bit of Ska/Reggae with a Sheffield accent!
