  4. its a shame they have never repaired the weir as the stretch above was full of fish but when weir dropped it lowered it about 3 feet so it really became un fishable, lovely area though for walking the dogs and photography.
  5. nice shots, I used to fish this stretch of the Don and on many occasions just go walking up there as it is so scenic. I remember the weir in your photo's being damaged in the floods of 2007, did they repair any of the damage ?
  6. pm sent, as moonbird has said think carefully then choose.

  8. hi psm, no not recieved anything, please try again. thanks, RM
  9. were they kept outdoors over night ? having bred these lovely little animals for many years what your are describing to me sounds like the effects of coming out of hibernation, obviously providing there are no other symptoms then this could be what has happened. if they are kept indoors then take them to see a vet asap, also they should be kept in there own cages once they leave their mothers, Syrian hamsters are solitory creatures and prefer their own space. hope they are ok.
  10. would just like to say we have had it confirmed from the chaps at Thornberry that we can take the little staffy cross mastiff pup that I reserved last week. will be collecting him on wednesday and cant wait, just got to think of an appropriate name now ! what I do want is a medium to large dog cage for him just while he gets used to our GSD as he can be a bit boisterous at times, I am willing to buy one and then sell on in a couple of weeks or I will pay if I can borrow one just while he becomes acclimatised to his new home and two new brothers, need by tuesday as we pick him up on weds. can anyone help please ? cheers
  11. just thought i would update you all, i nice chap came today with a lady friend and conducted our home visit, both seemed to go away very happy as we knew they would, so we just have to wait and now see if we get one of those little staffy cross pups that were dumped by some evil **** just before xmas in secluded woods near dinnington, luckily a dog walker found them and took them to the rescue, now they seem to be thriving and none the worse for wear. fingers crossed:)
  12. yes mate i am, just didnt want to say owt earlier as i knew you were helping that other chap out. look forward to hearing from you. :)rich
  13. we have been told 150-00, dont know if it varies dependant on type/age of animal etc. we would just like to hear something from them when they said they would, personally its putting me off going to rescues for a pet !
  14. i cant weigh them to be honest, when i went down there the lady told me they wanted to rehome the pups asap as they were growing so fast, she said as soon as they have had their vaccination on thurs we will contact you re a home visit ! but nothing:loopy:
  15. we are trying to adopt from there at the moment and its like trying to nail trifle to the ceiling !!! been down there and picked a pup, given all details they asked for and was told a home visit would be needed which was no problem as all is secure etc, supposed to be hearing from them last friday/saturday but not heard a thing ! i am a bit dissapointed actually that they cant even keep in touch to let people know whats happening, after all virtually all rescues are crying out for people to come and give staffies and staff/cross's a loving and permanent home. maybe we should have gone to a breeder instead !
  16. ime glad its all worked out for you pal, he sounds like a really top bloke that clay shooter, let me know how you get on, in fact I might join you both for a session one day. good luck guys, stay safe:)
  17. surely you gotta expect a numpty popping up somewhere, after all it is the sheffield forum:P

  19. there you go qaud, keep that money in your pocket, just buy the guy a pint:)
  20. hi all, about 10 days ago the star ran a story about a litter of six week old staffy cross bull mastiff pups that were abandoned in some woods and eventually were saved and ended up at thornberry. the wife enquired about these pups they day after we read the star as we would like to give one a permanent loving home, a lady said they would not be up for adoption yet so we left it at that, understandable just before xmas etc and i understand they micro chip and vacinate them before they go to a new home anyway. does anyone on here know what is happening with these pups as i have just been on their web site and there are no details about the pups at all ! just thought someone from thornberry might come on here and perhaps give us an update about them before we set off down there and possibly make a wasted journey. many thanks, RM
  21. well done clay shooter, not very often this happens so give yourself a pat on the back:thumbsup:
