Hi all, can anyone recommend any decent steel fabricators in Sheffield? I'm looking to get a new external stainless steel staircase made, and have got in touch with the bigger fabricators that come up on a Google search but not a single one of them has bothered to quote for the job (business must be booming - do they have too much work on their hands!?). Come on, it's the City of Steel! Any recommendations very highly appreciated.

We had too many players for this afternoon (Sat 20th Jan) but now a couple have dropped out (thanks), so we have a couple of places. Anybody wanna play this afternoon 4pm at Goals? We're not planning to play every Saturday, it's just this Saturday to get the ball rolling (no pun intended), and then we'll try and figure out when's best for everyone. There are still a couple of places left (although we're still waiting to hear back from a few people), so if anyone else wants to play, get in touch! (contact details are in earlier post)

Hi everyone, Sorry I've been a while in getting back to you. I had been hoping to get some footy going before the end of 2006, but we didn't have enough players. But now I think we do!! So let's get it started.. First kickaround: this Saturday (20th Jan) 4pm at Goals cost = 3 quid each. When you confirm that you can make it I'll get back to you with more details. Please let me know as soon as you can, because obviously there are limited places When we play on Saturday we can try and sort out what day/time is convenient for everyone if we want to play regularly. I have heard (from a reliable source!!) that a private company is considering introducing an optional kerbside collection scheme for glass/plastic bottles and cans/tins in Sheffield. Apparently it'll cost about 28 pounds per household for a year's worth of collections (collections every fortnight). Do you think there's much of a need in Sheffield for this? Do you think many people would sign up for it? Do you think the price is reasonable? On the one hand, I think that it is service that should be provided by the council for free. But on the other hand, at the moment the council don't provide it, so this service will just be making it a lot easier for people to get involved in recycling..

Hi there, Are you interested in getting fit/having a kickaround/meeting new people in Sheffield, but not sure if competetive league teams are quite suitable for you? Well, I'm looking to organise some easy-going friendly five-a-side football, either at the Goodwin pitches near the Childrens' Hospital or at Goals near the big B&Q in the town centre.
