  1. 2 mountain bikes stolen from a back garden during night. Both were chained together and covered up and also tried to get in shed in the Woodhouse area. Please look out for these and inbox if you see please. One is a btwin rockrider 5 for women, the other is btwin rockrider 5 men. Police have been informed
  2. It was my turbo that went and yes I did expect to get it covered as it says so onthe policy but as it's not a catastrophic engine failure ( the aa woman's words not mine) it will probably be put down to wear and tear
  3. Just a little note to anyone with aa full cover which includes parts breakdown. I've just cancelled mine as for the second time this year I've been refused help with the cost of repair. The get out clause is that they say it is wear and tear for virtually everything . I'm only posting this to save others money and save them the fight of trying to get payment off the aa. The helpful lady on the other end of the phone virtually told me it's a waste of money.
  4. neither do i but my lad plays for em (hes an owl but i will change him over to the red side)
  5. young owls in hillsborough park beginning of june
  6. its the fact he was a german shepard and it was a small car , it just didnt seem right . I didnt know what to expect tbh as ive never been in this position before
  7. the cost is irrelavent because i could have taken him to the vets and paid around 70/80 pounds but i couldnt bring myself to do it, i wanted him to be in his home when he went.
  8. Just had my dog put to sleep today and for the amount of money i got charged i thought maybe a bit of tact wouldnt go amiss. We got charged £150 , which although may seem alot or not as the case may be, wasnt much compared to what we lost today. But the sheer fact that after the deed was done he was then put into the vets car BOOT! wtf!!! a bit of dignity maybe? all in all a very sad day:(
  9. i think i understand the basics of it all now but just need to know if it part of the engine or clutch and does it have friction surfaces ? also do i have a valid claim or is it just unlucky and i gotta swallow this one
  10. so its not actually a friction surface,or is it? its more likely the rivets that hold the friction material on the clutch plate have caused the damage then? thus making this part covered on the insurance???
  11. if its not part of the clutch is it part of the engine ?
  12. clutch wasnt worn just a terrible rattle from engine which turned out to be the flywheel but they replace both clutch and flywheel as ive read
  13. Sorry if im being a bit dull as i know nothing about cars.Is it part of the clutch? The reason im asking is ive got AA breakdown repair and they are saying that the failure of the flywheel is down to wear and tear. Now in their T&Cs it says "clutch"(all parts are covered other than worn out friction surfaces) so is this a friction thing and is the wool being pulled over my eyes ?
  14. so does it reduce vibration thru friction? does it have friction plates/surface?
  15. if there are any decent mechanics on here could they please explain what this thing actually does and is it classed as part of a clutch? also is it a friction surface(important to know) or is it something else:huh: just had it done and clutch and its cost me £950, gutted
