Those were the days! You knew it was summer when that came on telly! Innocent fun - not like bloody Love Island, or Big Brother.

I would also recommend Timanfaya - a good day out (or half a day really). El Golfo is well advertised and isn't far away. Its a volcanic crater by the sea. The crater itself isn't that impressive but the little town and the coast there is beautiful. There are loads of small restaurants right on the sea front. If you hire a car, just drive up into the mountains - its only a small island. There's also another place called something like "jammeos del agua". That's quite interesting. Its a volcanic tube (hole) made in the lava. There is a restaurant and bar down there, with a lovely pool with some rare crabs in it. We visited Puerta del Carman but it was very busy due to the Ironman competition being hosted there. Don't know the apartments you ask about. We stayed in Costa Teguise - lovely place. A very windy island though!

Hello all! I'm new to the forum but this thread caught my eye, so I registered. Does anyone remember the Cartwright family? They used to live on View Road and went to Anns Rd school. My Mum is Audrey (born 1941) . She has three sisters - Joan, Irene & Doreen, and four brothers - Alan,George, Eric & Roy. My Grandad and Nannan (George & Irene) used to tell me a lot of stories from their days in Heeley. Grandad used to work at Laycocks. It would be nice to tell my mum someone remembers them.
