How do you know that the teacher actually wrote the note? I don't know any self respecting adult that would put 'if destroyed still true' on anything, joke or not. I think you need to be really careful if you go in all guns blazing. You need to be sure because it could've career ending if it escalates out of control and turns out to be a false accusation.

We opted for a nursery. I always prefered this option as my LO is a very lively, active little one who, I think, gets more out of a nursery than she would a child minder. She is very sociable and has lots of other children her age around her. She absolutely loves it there and is always desperate to get in the door. However, we also found a really lovely one we fell in love with and that helped sway our decision. If we felt the same about a childminder we met then we would've put her there. My advice would be visit nurseries, meet child minders and then make a decision on who you would like to look after your child. You may really love a nursery and decide on that, or you may really like one of the childminders and be completely comfortable with that option. You won't really know until you start meeting the people you will be trusting with your child.

A level 2 is what is average by the end of KS1. By the end of Y5, it should be around 3a. Now, for it to be an average there are, by default, children who are lower than these grades. I, personally, wouldn't worry about the actual levels if your child is reaching their own, individual potential. Is you child accessing interventions at school? Does a TA / teacher work with on a one to one or small group basis on a regular basis? Do what you keep doing, working with your child with homework, spelling, reading etc. There are many children who are at 2c at the end of Y4. When I was teaching a Y5 class I had many children who were at 2c at the end of Y5 (don't judge me as a teacher - these children progressed whilst I had them. It is fairly common to have low ability children in your class). What you need to be more concerned about is if your child has progressed this year. If he has, then that's fine and you have less to worry about. If he has not progressed at all, then I would be concerned. But, by all means go and speak to the school. Ask if he is on the SEN register (special educational needs register) for his learning and find out what intervention programmes he will be accessing / needing next year. I'd be very surprised if there is no provision in place if he is being seen under Ryegate but try and find out anyway. In my experiences a 2c will not constitute special school. There are many children who end primary school and Y6 on a level 2 so please try not to worry. Easier said than done, I know

When we were testing out buggies, this was one of our main criteria as both hubby and myself are really tall. The tallest we found when we were in John Lewis before Easter was the SilverCross Pop. It seemed taller than the McLarens that were there.

I'm interested in going. However, I would have to take my 10 month old with me. Does anyone know if this would be alright? Would anyone have any objections? Hmmmmmm. Decisions.

Our teats have recently started blocking on the no2 dr browns. I'm glad we are not the only ones. And, what surprised me was that when we were on holiday to a place with really soft water, they didn't block once, even though everything else was the same. I am going to start filtering / purifying the water before boiling it. Silly, I know. But it's the only thing I can think of. We tried everything else - the next sized teat was far too big, the milk always flowed before but there were too many incidents for it to be a 'bad batch' of milk. Too many boxes were 'bad batches', if that makes sense. Also, make sure that you give the milk a really *really* good shake before you feed your LOs.

I am making a stocking for my daughter and am using cascade 220. I am loving it so far

I had my baby at Rotherham and the ante natal care, labour care and immediately afterwards was amazing. My midwife was fantastic and was really lucky to have her. I'm not as convinced about the aftercare, tbh. Post natal was a bit poor and when speaking to the health visitor and my community midwife afterwards they were surprised at the different things that I wasn't told about or discussed with me - like bathing the baby, cot death prevention and contraception. I had lots of help with breastfeeding, though, and if I had an issue I could speak to one of the midwives but some of them were rather pants, which is a shame because the labour ward were amazing.

You can give birth wherever you want. It is your body, your choice. Simple as. The doctors / midwives cannot force you to do anything you don't want to do. They can advise you, but that's it and they have to send you a midwife if you refuse to go to hospital. Have a look at the homebirth.org.uk website and the AIMS website. They are full of wonderful info.

Yeah, I rip too. Unless I am annoyed at having to rip lots or a complex thing or something and then I use many expletives instead. Hubby gets some sort of perverse pleasure out of this. And then I turn the expletives onto him! I'm so kind

Cupcakes are slightly different although the terms are generally used interchangeably. They are originally American but you get them all over now. Fairy cakes are more like the big victoria sponges that you then put into smaller cases. Cupcakes are normally a slightly moister cake because you add milk / extra egg white / oil. It makes a moister cake which I think tastes better in smaller form than mini big sponges.

I am on a baby knitting kick as I realised the other day that my baby is due at the end of the month and I hadn't made anything for her I have just finished crocheting a blankie (take a look at my blog in my sig for pictures) and have just (literally) cast off a baby surprise jacket. I need to get some cute buttons for it, still, but that requires a trip to hobbycraft / town. Later today I intend to cast on saartje's booties and sheldon from knitty. I would link things but my laptop is being irritating and not letting me at the moment

I went to a wedding recently and wore a pair of plain black mat trousers and a floaty non-mat top from monsoon. I found it really difficult to find something to wear. This was the best alternative.
