  1. John Harris probably put the best footballing side together I can remeber, but for me the most fun was under Harry Bassett. Always enjoyed upsetting the big boys, and we were good at it.
  2. Lets hope so, just confirmed in Star news, a 2 year deal.
  3. Thanks for that Graps. I thought I'd kept my ears close to the ground for incoming players, but this one passed me by. He looks the sort of player who could do a job for us if he gets the supply. Roll on Saturday, just wish it was a 3:00 kick off!
  4. Only been to the Dundee game, so it's hard to offer an assessment. Like everybody else, I'm cautiously optimistic, but I still can't see where the goals are going to come from. Is ched coming back or not?
  5. Well I'm gonna put a downer on last nights game. Louis Reed apart, i didn't see any areas of improvement from last season. I didn't see Murphys goal, but the last three we got were courtesy of some very very poor defending! I know its only a friendly, but once again i can't see where the goals are going to come from i.e. no striker, and not much creativity from midfield. I was full of optimism for the new season, but my opinion of last nights games leaves me thinking its gonna be a lot tougher than we thought after last season.
  6. I have to agree there are little parts of his game that could be improved upon. However, Harry is such a crowd pleaser that I can overlook his occasional slip. You can probably count on one hand the number of times he has cost us a goal. He does get caught out of position occasionally, and maybe in a higher division he may be punished more severely for that, but, he will always put his head, leg, body whatever in where others wouldn't. When he gets his head down and sets off on his maizy dribbles towards the opposition box, hes fantastic, and a lot more skilled than he gets credit for. We've all seen him hit 50 yard crossfield balls straight to Murphy's feet on a regular basis. I'm a big fan and personally hope he stays, and if we do have the financial clout from our Saudi prince, we should be able to afford to keep him and watch develop even further.
  7. What sort of figure do you reckon he is worth then?
  8. Much as I'd like Harry to stay, looking at the Butler signing, the expected signing of McGahey from Blackpool, plus young Kennedy as cover I expect him to be on his way. If he does go I will miss seeing him charging forward on those surging runs, and enjoyed watching him develop to a player worth that sort of transfer fee. Lets hope he stays, but wish him well if he goes.
  9. some more footage here Just stick a number 9 on his back, and problem solved!! (Til Ched gets back)
  10. Pictures on Blades website show Harry has reported back for training. Hopefully that's a good sign?
  11. Two more ready for next season...bring it on. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/sheffield-united
  12. Mine was a year or so back, if you give me the name and address of the company selling the product, ill let you know if i recognise it
  13. They told me... believe it was 40% plus VAT of any refund.
  14. Yep, no win no fee. Company up in North East. They won my case for me, band reduced from c to b, and won me back about six years of overpayment. Cant go wrong!
  15. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/sheffield-united Marlon king given 18 months for dangerous driving.... what a bad choice he was for us.
  16. Just renewed mine, cant wait for K.O. Just hope there's not too much expectation after our performances in the second half of this season, but, with N.C. in charge I think we can be optimistic.
  17. I'm surprised at that Robbie, I think he looks a lot fitter and a little leaner since Nige came in. Apart from a couple of howlers early on under David Weir, I reckon he's made further progress this season and just hope we can hold on to him. When he carries the ball out of defence on one of his runs, he's as good as anyone, and have you noticed how accurate he can be with a ball over the top to Murphy? He didn't have that in his locker last year! If I was to be at all critical, I think he had a bad day at Wembley. Too quick to stop and appeal rather than play to the whistle. As others have said, well done Harry.
  18. They haven't scored at home for FIVE games !!! Remember similar times at The Lane?
  19. Club have now confirmed they have been in contact. http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/sheff-utd/sheffield-united-united-contact-ched-evans-1-6570433
  20. Agree with Sir Bob, wouldn't have got Francis though, thats a good shout! And Paul Wood, I'd forgotten about him, he was a good signing too. Happy days.
