  3. Please help. My two cats have been having flea problems since December last year (2013). At first I used Frontline Combo - 3 applications each. After that failed - last week I took them both to Vet for injections. Cost £50 each. I have vacced and washed everything (they - the cats - go everywhere in house including bed). I am STILL finding live fleas on them. Just caught one just now - I put it down the toliet and it was swimming around! What on Earth can I do? Am I missing something? My elder cat is going mad with it - her belly is all bare and she is freaking out. Anyone? Thanks in advance Sam

  8. Hello All I am looking to do some renovations to the house - including knocking down a wall between offshot kitchen and dining room. This will lead to a new floor. I have also noticed that there are some cracks on first floor landing. Also - a major job is stripping, boarding and plastering a first floor room. Where do I start? Is the first thing to get a surveyor/structural engineer round? If so - anoyone got any recommendations? And - any general advice - I want to get on with it but as I said - what do I do first? Much appreciated

  14. Hi Ghozer Thanks for quick response! Is that the MAC ID? Tried that ... also plugged in the internet cable straight to lap top - no luck. Also thought of resetting router but even though it says reset on it - there's no button. Life used to be much simpler! Sam
  15. Hi Can anyone help please? I've had my laptop fixed and when I've brought it home I can't get on the internet through wireless as I don't have the network key. I have spent the last two hours on my mobile trying to find out... no luck. Is there a way of finding it? Is there a default network key? It is windows XP. Thanks ... in hope! Sam

  19. Hi markfor This happened to me about three years ago... They had scammed 180 from me before I noticed. BUT I looked them up on google and was directed to money saving expert .com. That site had advice and if I remember correctly you just have to write to them (the scammers) saying it was unauthorised and you get your money back. Hopefully this still works ...(it did for me) so check it out and hopefully you'll get a nice summertime bonus. Good luck!!! Sam (let us know how you get on...)
  20. Hi Sean F Thanks for your reply. The plant is growing under the roof at the front and at the bottom of first floor window to the rear. I seem to think there is damage to the lintel at the front. Is this something that you might be able to investigate for me? PM if you think you might be able to quote? Thanks again
  21. Hi Not sure if this is the right place to post this... Looking for some help. I have what I think are buddleias growing out of my house walls front and back. They've been there for years without really doing much but now I'm thinking it is quite possible that they could be causing havoc in the brickwork (old terrace at Sharrow). Can anyone advise on who I need to look at this? Don't know whether I need a gardener or a builder? Thanks in advance
  22. It is listed but sadly the council have yet again proved their ineptitude. Or the part of it that looks after this sort of thing. Apparently the scaffolding company wanted their scaffold down as they had not been paid so the Council were trying to contact the owners (of the building). How odd that they couldn't contact them until (surprise surprise) the building was to be demolished. By some miracle (because it suits the owner of the building for it to be torn down) - consent was given. So now it is gone - is in the process of being de-listed and as far as I'm aware the owners can re-apply for planning to do whatever - which will be easier as it will be an empty plot. Oh and the council was paying for the scaffolding for approx 3 months. Great work. (I live on that street and we fought for ages against the plans). God only knows what we'll get now.
  23. Hello all and thanks for your replies. Well, Monday night I cooked up some lovely chicken breast with a bit of rice (MIL told me to put rice in). Well, the wolfed it down, even the fuss pot older lady. Next morning - totally turned their noses up ... and it was still there when I came home from work. NOT happy. (Them or me)> So, they have had more dry and more pouches. I will try them with a bit of raw chicken - see how that goes but I was a bit worried that it would be too rich for them? I really don't want to go back to the smelly pouches if I can help it. Thanks again for your input! Sam
  24. Hello All Both my cats are fed a mixture of dry and wet food. They prefer the wet food but I find it repulsive in it's smell, look and PRICE! They don't LOVE it but will not exist on dry food alone. Would it be OK to buy them chicken breasts and cook them in water, and then slice it up for them? Would they get the vitamins they need if I still provided them with the dry foods too? (I am thinking the cheapest chicken in Sainsbury's has got to be better than the processed wet foods?) Also, I have noticed that rice is sometimes an ingredient in cat food - should I boil up some rice for them too? Maybe carrots and peas? I want my cats to be healthy (esp one who is elderly and fussy) and I just can't see how this rancid processed food can be any good for them? Looking forward to hearing your catness knowledge! Thank you Sam
