  1. Just been up in the loft, didn't stay there that long. Glad it's a sound roof!
  2. Just out of curiosity do me a favour and point out the "evil parts" in the new testament. You've got me interested now!
  3. Ah well, the general internet a place of massive variance in opinion so I'm not surprised you came on some alarmist comments. I believe most reasonable human beings would see that any statement similar to those you have listed are impractical, irrational, impossible and highly emotive or just plain "wrong". However, they are still entitled to an opinion even though you or I may not like the content. For what it's worth I've not seen any comments like this but I don't tend to surf the web that much. However the general principle applies that you don't end somebody's life for expressing an opinion. admittedly you can have a big arguement over it though :-)
  4. I wrote " I would like to think" not that I knew for certain mate. I think context may have some relevance, but thanks for bringing that to my attention. If it's any reassurance to you I think you'd find the above crimes would be illegal in the UK, pretty much like they are in the US. I'm therefore certain the individuals would be dealt with by the Criminal Justice System irrespective of what there motives or beliefs were and quite rightly so!
  5. Depends how the anti abortionists were "picketing" I would imagine. If they breached the above act then I would expect the police to act without fear or favour However I would like to think the Catholic belief in the power of forgiveness, prayer and peace would prevail. :-) ---------- Post added 09-01-2015 at 20:12 ---------- With the greatest of respect I don't believe those who may place misguided, opinionated or misinformed comments expressing their feelings in these times of heightened tensions are exactly the same! A post on this thread or others might be annoying, might even be insulting but isn't life ending!
  6. Well done to my Camarades français and to all who stand fast against terrorism!
  7. You make a good point and I can empaphise with the sentiment you express, and in reality most people of all faiths and none wouldn't dream of being violent to another. Most of us have that "safety cut out" that stops us from going over the edge. Sadly there are individuals on this forum who's lack of thought for others seems to provoke negative reactions. My advice is don't bite back! One of the first things I was taught was the "Sticks and stones " rhyme as a kid, its stood me in good stead over the years. Their opinions are exactly that.....theirs!
  8. Would be a bit formula though wouldn't it!
  9. Can't work out why you didn't quote the whole Ten Commandments and just selected the first two . They were included in response to a previous post indicating that anyone who had religious values was violent. It's just that I see no violence in any of these words, and they are the core values of which many societies have set their peaceful ideals on for centuries. Sorry if it offends you, now you can get on with your life. All the best
  10. Laid the Patio heater on it's side as the thought of it disappearing over the fence is a step to far!
  11. I fail to see how any of the list below seperates anybody from Mankind, in my opinion it seems like a list of good ideals for a cohesive society! There called the Ten Commandments and you'll find there not often adhered to these days! I am the LORD your God. You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day. Honor your father and your mother. You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods
  12. Latest update. French special forces have sealed off a village where they believe two of the French / Algerian suspects are. Lets hope the net is closing.
  13. Hasn't there military school and the children within it recently suffered an horrific and cowardly attack at the hands of the Taliban. Pakistan has some issues that no one here would want on home soil. In a lot of cases they get my sympathy!
  14. To get this thread back on track has anybody heard any updates on the current status of the French security forces and the current hunt for these murderers!
  15. Fair point! perhaps that's why certain religous people are known as "people of faith" If God was proven faith wouldn't be required.
  16. The fact that the drill model numbers begin with a "P" and are green designate them as a DIY variant in the Bosch range, if your other half finds the performance acceptable just replace them with some more Bosch DIY kit. Due to the excellent performance of this range it's pointless paying for the "G" Blue range which is professional if your not going to get the use out of the them. The latest battery's will probably be Lithium ion (Li) and Bosch have one of the best track records out there on Li battery technology by a country mile. Inevitably there are more manufacturers to choose from, but you'd be amazed just how some of the perceived high end premium brands default to sourcing parts from the mainline manufacturers and get away with charging serious money. Just because they shove a different label on it and change the design.
  17. Er! actually someone tried it In a Vauxhall Frontera  they never made it!
  18. Cnoc an Fhreiceadain was the mountain in Scotland not Wales http://www.topgear.com/uk/videos/disco-climbing-3 Despite the issues withe D3 and as a LRowner this still brings a huge smile to my face.
  19. Sorry..............never realised they were in control of the ultimate doomsday device.....PMT! Oops!
  20. He's just opened a chip shop with Elvis! OR has he defected to.......................UKIP!
  21. Having had Nexen A/T's on my old Jeep with no problems in snow! I've also had them fitted to my Land Rover as well. Since being reshod it's been up to the Lake District and around the Atlantic coastline in Ireland. The tyres have been subjected to tracks, beaches and rivers and are quiet and responsive on the tarmac. The best bit was that Burrows Toyota supplied and fitted 'em for about £300 all in! Bargain! and then they washed the car because it was part of the service!
  22. A bit harsh, methinks! Also I don't believe this was done without a great deal of consultation between the BBC and the National Park. In my experience responsible and intelligent 4X4 drivers cause few issues for most people or for the environment. And before anybody focuses on the "responsible and intelligent" bit let me add that any idiot in any form of vehicle is one idiot to many!
  23. The registration number is on a 928GT............the number is 982 does no one see the similarity! In a world where personal number plates abound, especially within supercar circles it's highly possible this car was received with this plate. Furthermore the paperwork side of the sale would have been processed by somebody in an office who could have had no idea of it's relevance. The facts are three british cars went to Argentina and didn't return because they were subjected to criminal damage, irrespective if what supposed mitigating factors are involved there can be no excuse for this! However when you look at whats happening in the world elsewhere this is a non event!
  24. Naw!!! That was supposed to be Mary Magdalene!!. However it does seem possible she's got some form of Mental health issue and if so a public order offence would probably not be the wisest way to go. Considering the Cathedral's withstood Hitler's bombs I'm certain it'll withstand a few choice words.
